My Review
I joined the fubar just over a month ago for the purposes of writing a review of the site here; in my review you will find things I liked about the site and things I didn't.
I am not sure if Fubar classes itself as a dating site or a social network site or both but if you want to meet a new love, or just looking for friends, fubar caters for everyone, it is easy to join and uploading pictures or images is very easy.
What I like about fubar
You start to earn points quite quickly and before long you move up in rankings, in one month I have reached level 8.
The quickest and best way to move up the rankings is to spend a lot of time on the site rating other users pictures and profiles, adding yourself as a fan and asking if you can become a friend, soon though you will have more friend requests than you send out.
A lot of people will invite you to their fubar lounges where you can chat with other fu members. You also get invites to play fubar games that are fun, and you get the chance to chat one on one.
There is a lot more to fubar than first meets the eye.
One of the best features of fubar is that you only need to share your pictures with whom you choose to apart from your main profile pic.
What I don't like about Fubar
There are only a couple of things about fubar that annoy me, although you can put filters in your profile to prevent them, there is an amazing amount of pornographic pictures in some peoples accounts.
Some comments and email you receive don't leave much to the imagination.
My experience with Fubar
I have been Honest and upfront in my profile, my profile picture is the same one that I have here on hubpages. I have stated that I am married and that I am looking for friends not a relationship or a fling.
When I first joined fubar, I started making new friends quickly people who rated my profile and pictures because I rated theirs.
I have had a couple of people who have down rated my profile but that is nothing to worry about. All went well for a few days before I received my first of many emails offering sexual favours mostly from women but a couple from men too, threesomes with me and my wife were on offer from people of all ages. Maybe if I were into that kind of thing I would have been in heaven lol.
But no thank you your mail has been deleted and forgotten about.
P.s I don't want to be your master and I don't want you to dominate me either lol.
Fubar can be fun and give your ego a must needed boost, but there are people on the site who reek of desperation, read their profiles please rate me, please show me love, please rate my pics I don't know if they are desperate to be loved or if they just want to move up another rank.
I have had fun, I have had a laugh and I have enjoyed most of my fubar experience.
Overall
Fubar is fun, I have met some really nice people on the site and have enjoyed it, beware of the swingers and the perverts but the same can be said of any dating or social network site, use it for your needs whether you want to make new friends or find love, whatever your reasons for joining just have fun.

I joined Fubar, because, as a web developer, I have been pobndering creating a social networking sites resemmbling the old dating BBS's which were regional online communities, since they were accessed by phone modem before the internet. There were even monthly meetups, where all members met in person.
Fubar falls way short of the simple and effective layour of those dearly missed BBS's of old. The web features are excessively complex and glittery, but proper web design could fix that, There's is no way to localize (except searching every time), and the shoutbox is awkward. The comments people leave are usually plain silly images or invite you to join sex clubs.
Someone is getting rich with all the stupid affiliate stuff. Take a survey that promises Fubucks, and go through pages and pages of offers. I don't need more spam, so I turned down all offers, and took a long time to get to the totally ridiculous survey end, and never received my Fubucks.
Fubar is nothing but a money making machine that poses as a social networking site. I doubt many real relationships or friendships are ever made. A lot of silliness, unreadable profiles (due to ugly animated backgrounds)
Now I know I do not have to worry about this competition should I decide to make my own REAL networking site, complete with real person meetups.)
Remember the old saying.. Keep It Simple Stupid. If there was silly rating of everything there, perhaps it could turn into a real social site.

I have been a member of Fubar.com for a few months and have met some REALLY GREAT people. Both local and WORLD wide. I have been reunited with some acquaintenances I had thought moved. You can easily become addicted to FuBar if you are a student of human behavior as I am. Reading peoples personal profiles, chatting with people in a LIVE shoutbox (instant message box within the site), listening to the music others like and even checkin out other peoples photos and photographic skills will give you a great look into other peoples lives if you look hard enough.
MySpace: Eat your Heart out!!! There are many more things to do on this site and you enjoy a much more user friendly interface.
ONLY THE EXPERIENCE of FuBar itself can give you the full impact of the capabilities and enjoyment that awaits you!!!

I have been on the site for not quite a week and not sure what to make of the place and with all such places..People have their quirks about how they view what you say, and for the motivations of it..even by others words about themselves..you reflect on how others make statements in levity about themselves..but cannot go along with it..
However..I want to add..The remark made was only upon one occasion and by one such individual, and I view as a Pure misunderstanding. I do not want to have it implied that I am making negative remarks about a place I have not experienced that much about and not YET even gotten to TALK with anyone except a few little comment boxes..The few that actually did talk in that manner were friendly in my opinion. It is our intention to stay and make friends as best as one can in any chat place. It helps us to participate with one another to view things from others perspectives, even if misunderstood ones. The problem with all such online friendships..and I have quite a few I have made that were enjoyable and some friends who have died in the years I have been on the internet..and their deaths touch me deeply. So I am willing to make a go of it, and try Never to judge someone solely because they badly reacted to hurt feelings or Feelings that lie buried inside themselves or because they label someone from the outset without explanation. The best thing in communication between people and the maturity of people is that they do not just rush off in a huff but think about their own reactions and ASK why they stated what they did. I do not pretend to understand why people dress provocatively, and display themselves in such a manner that some might take as improper behavior. Sometimes baring oneself is almost like the inward "baring" that most wish they could to another friend but never find themselves able to. People are loaded with inhibitions and emotional reactions from past and present experiences. People heal by forgiving and understanding, and evaluating the people new to their lives by only who they are..and that takes time.
Fubar reminds me of a cleverly thought out pyramid scheme, that rewards members for social climbing and arse crawling. Everybody is trying to score fubucks and points in the hope of achieving VIP status. Those who want to be friends with you normaly have a hidden motive, especially if they are VIP's. It has a very commercial feel to it, with little genuine friendly value. I'm sure its a financial success for fubar, and perhaps that's all that really counts in the end. I didn't get much value from the experience

I am so much and addicted by fubar..so much enjoying.you can find real friends even you didnt met them yet.full of love,smile and laughters..it brightens my days. a perfect to hang on if you have lot of problems,just hang fubar on and you will forget all what you problems are.
I have been a member of Fubar for 18 months and I love the site. I will say that is easily addictive if you are of the right personality. I will also say this, I have met my true love on there last year. He was over 7000 miles away in the Army in Iraq, and FuBar brought us together. I signed up with them when it was CherryTap and its been a wonderful experience. A place to go and get away from reality for a bit. There are some truly awesome people on there and have made quite a few long lasting friendships and in about 2 years, my love and I will wed. :) I recommend it!!!!
I was a member of fubar before it was actually fubar.. Back when it was actually called Cherry Tap. I loved the site then. They changed a lot of things when they switched from cherry tap to fubar, but it's still an amazing site to meet new people on. It doesn't matter if you're looking for a relationship or fling or just a friendship, you can find it on fubar. Almost every one that I have talked to since Cherry Tap started and switched over have been amazingly nice.
You will get the occasional spam message about sex offerings and such, but other than that they try really hard to keep the spamming out.
If you leave too many comments, you have to type in a code for the 'Bouncer ID' to make sure that you're not a computer.
They point system is pretty easy to figure out and it's extreamly easy to level up if you go on just once a day. My aunt goes on once a week and has only been a member for 2 months and she's on level 12.
They also don't delete your account no matter how long you don't sign in. I hadn't signed in in six months and my account was still there. Nothing had been bothered with. The only way the delete your account is if you're under the age of 18 and they find out, which my younger cousin found out the hard way.
She had signed up and it took them awhile to catch it, but she's only 16. She was on level 12 and they deleted her account.
You can send people 'drinks' as it is an online 'bar'. You can send cars, gifts, cakes for birthdays. There are a million things that you can do on the site. It's a truely amazing site just to go onto and forget about reality for awhile because it's easy to get caught up in the conversations at times. Over all, I would deffinently recomend this site to ANYONE over the age of 18. Practically my entire family has signed up for it.

They just started a way where you have to slow down on the rating of pictures or else the rate is ignored. Now, one has to rate once every 5 seconds-any faster and the rates will be ignored

hi jimmy(jimmythejock), thx for the gr8 review, and good info from the comments section 2. i was considering trying out ths site for meeting w/ good, real people to chat w/, games, or practice my russian; but sex dating and porn, no thx. i would have hoped that the host of a 'lounge' had ability to kick someone out if being very rude or jerk, or groupvote for that matter w/ a minimum #votes to pass(at least ths method used in 'orbz' game(game for children and adults fyi) for dealing w/ misfits, and has worked(don't use it much b/c the people are good and courteous, and very fun).
guess i'm old fashioned; i'll stick to chess online, cribbage online, orbz(online), though eyes remain open to trying something new(chats, games), but has to be decent(well mannered) fun; though, liked the idea of buying drinks like in bar ;)

I joined Fubar because my husband was always on it. I understand why now and it's alot of fun. I think though that charging for some of the items at the prices they do is a little off the top. But i guess they need to keep the site going somehow. I laugh at some of the content in other people's profiles. Most are attention seekers. I rate and gift people with drinks when I see they need it. I don't expect anything back for it but all gifts and attentions are welcome.
PS it's always good to read a profile before trying to add someone as a friend.
What I dont like about Fubar is those who makes files of the so-called 'downraters and haters'..WAAAAAAAAAAH! So someone rated a pic less thana 10. so what!? All the whiney azz crybabies over there need to GROW UP. None of us is going to be a 10 in the eyes of everyone....

Fubar is a joke! If you want to contribute to the man who started it then fine! But, realize when you sign up that you will be expected to pay for alot on the site. It is not a requirement but out of peer pressure alone, if you do not pay for the "blings" and "VIP'S" then you simply do not fit in! Not to mention all the begging women on there that scream for happy hours to be bought for them (literally $100.00 a pop) seriously dudes...get a life!! There are other networking sites that do not charge! Fubar can pound sand..it's not a cool place!
