After watching a few episodes of the show, I just can not stop wondering about a question: what gives the performers the guts to show off?

The truth is that I do have competed several times with my schoolmates, but none of them was out of my own mind. My classmates kept telling me that I was somehow good at English pronunciation, and they always encouraged me to show off my gifts by saying that they would come to the contest just for keeping me company, so I fell for their kindness. The result of the contest brought me the cruel fact that they were there just to enjoy my embarrassment. No matter how hard I had practiced my prepared speech, once I walked to the stage, my brain was like washed clean, and I could not remember a complete sentence on the speech that I spent a whole week writing and reciting. What is the problem then if I could recite the speech without a pause in front of my classmates? Was I too shy to giving a speech in front of the strangers, or was I just not the material to show myself off? What makes an ordinary person have the qualification of showing off then? It is still a question unanswered.

Every time I watch a show on TV, I admire the performers because they look so natural and confident on the stage, and they do make the audience happy or surprised, including me. So I may have got the secret ingredient of the capability of showing off, which means being able to showing off a natural gift form the day of birth. I think it goes with the elements of personality. Some people are just good at showing off, but some not. It is actually as easy to understand as a fact that some students are just good at math, but some not.
