With over 300 stores in 20 states, CitiTrends is a value priced family apparel retailer providing urban fashions for the value conscience family, and it has headquarters in Savannah, Georgia. Its 'Everyday low prices' concept guarantees it continuous growth and profitability. The neatly designed website of CitiTrends(CT), contains information for customers, (potential) employees, and (potential) investors. Everything on the website is presented concisely, but still informative.

The user-friendly 'store locater' helps customers to find the nearest CT store. Before going out, you can arrange your route at home in advance. In cooperation with google map, a map with route leading to the store you are looking for will be on the screen, you can print it out and you will find the location easily with guidance of the map. Also, you can get direction by inputting your address if you are not sure if you can manage to find it only with the map. Also, you can find the opening hours of the specific store you plan to go, therefore, you won't encounter the embarrassment of standing in front of a closed store regretting for the time you have wasted in travelling all the way here.

Clicking on 'Opportunity' on the homepage, chances of employment and real estates would be visible. For potential employees, 4 kinds of positions are open:

Allocator is someone who is responsible for allocation of merchandise to stores, following up store contact, vendors & buyers. He/she reports to Director of Planning & Allocation.

Associate Buyer is responsible for attaining or exceeding sales and gross margin goals within assigned departments.

The District Manager is in charge of the leadership and direction of assigned stores within a district, with a focus on operational procedures, merchandise presentation and execution of all corporate initiatives. The position reports to the VP of Operations.

The Store Manager takes care of the direction of all merchandising, operational & human resources functions for an individual store in order to achieve or exceed planned sales & profits. This position reports to District Manager.

Besides the opportunity for job seekers with relevant experience, CT also provides opportunities for those who are in hold of real-estates that meet the requirements of CT. Such requirements include the size of the real-estate, the location and demographics. Information for (potential) investors are available beneath 'Investors'.In May of 2005, Citi Trends became a publicly traded company on the Nasdaq exchange with the symbol CTRN. Stock Information, financial information, govenance information, and annual meeting materials are presented in good order. Stock prices can be downloaded as an exel file with or without comparison to a benchmark according to your choice; latest financial reports are available in the format of HTM; documents like Corporate Governance Guidelines and Code of Business Conduct are downloadable as well. With sufficient information, investors are well informed of the financial situation of CT, and hopefully they can base their future decisions on these data and documents. Also for potential investors, they may decide whether to investor in CT or not accordingly.

However, the website has a lot to be improved. One weakness of the website is that, information there for customers is far from adequate. If it could publicize the stylish clothes they are selling in stores on the website with price, or if it can provide online shopping service, I think the sales would be even better. In this way, customers can do either some pre-shopping online and go directly to the ones that interest them the most, or just order clothes they want through Internet without going to a real store. Also, an online search engine for products categorized for instance by price or by style would also help the customer a lot. Moreover, a price comparison with similar clothes sold in other stores would make the CT's products more appealing as well.

Something also needs improvement is information for 'real-estate' holders. Neither the NEW STORE PLANS nor the detailed requirements of sites are publicized on the website. For further information, holders have to contact the real-estate office. It not only wastes the time of the holders but also that of the people who work in the real-estate office. A preliminary selection system which helps the holder find out if his/her estate meets the requirements would be efficient. Only the estates that pass the preliminary selections would be sent to the office for further inspection. The holders of the real-estates that are not qualified would get the rejection at once, and for the real-estate office, they don't need to reply to a myriad of emails while most of which are not qualified at all.
