KFC stands for Kentucky Fried Chicken. Walking on the street, you may have noticed the phenomenon that you can see a KFC restaurant every several miles away. In all the class one cities of China, you can easily find a KFC restaurant at the center of the city or at the corner of a street, but you can barely find a table that is available in the restaurant because they has been all taken no matter you are going there for lunch or dinner, so you really do not have another option but to stand in the queue to wait for your lunch or dinner to go if you are dying to try the newly promoted style of the unfried chicken. Every time when I was waiting or saw so many others queuing when I was just passing by a KFC restaurant, I asked to myself the question that how could an old man with a beard be so favored?

Since Hanland Sanders opened his first restaurant in 1930 in the midst of the economic depression of the United States, his specialty, the fried chicken, has brought him a huge fame, and his restaurants won a great prosperity in every city where he has landed his hand. According to my primary analysis, there are four reasons working together that have led KFC to such a high popularity.

The first reason should contribute to its clever marketing strategy, which has the working people as its major target. As the situation of the economy of the world became better and better after the depression, more and more job opportunities were created for the young generations who were looking for a job and those who just lost theirs. It was not easy to get a job so they appreciated it very much and they worked very hard to keep it. Under such a big pressure of losing the job, they spent almost the whole day working so that they did not even have enough time to have meals. Apparently, the KFC strategic methods just came to satisfy their needs because at a KFC restaurant, they could finish their lunch in ten or twenty minutes, or they could order some fried chicken to bring back to their office and finished them while working on their jobs. Accordingly, the working class passed their love to the fried chicken of KFC from generation to generation because eating at a KFC restaurant saved them a lot of time for work.

Secondly, as the fried chicken got more and more popular among the working people, KFC received more and more customers of the families of the working people. The best advertising means is the customers’ compliment. The time-saving KFC restaurants meet the commands of the working class, so they bring back more demands to the fried chicken, and the demands convert to more capital for KFC to open a lot of new restaurants in some other parts of the world to satisfy the working people there.

Thirdly, KFC has been investing a huge part of its profit and working extremely hard to develop new tastes from its basics to meet the different commands of different kinds of customers from different backgrounds and cultures. Because of its insistence and ability in creativity, KFC has conquered many competitors in the fast food industry and occupied a large market outside the United States. Nowadays, you can easily find the world- recognized logo of KFC in almost every city of Europe, Asia or even Africa. If you like to watch the advertisements on TV, you may have known that KFC promotes a new style of its fried chicken every other week. Among so many choices, I do not doubt that there is always a style that is yours.

The last reason is the social responsibility that KFC has been bearing since the date it was founded. As an international fast food chain, KFC has to have a positive impact on the society so that it can win back the positive appraisal from the society. FKC has taken good care of its staff, and there are always full-time or part-time job opportunities for people who are looking for one to support their life, and it does not need a bachelor degree to be a waiter, so it works well for many job hunters without a diploma.

As the demands of fast food growing so fast, more and more suppliers keep coming out to compete with KFC, which, however, has nothing to worry about, because KFC has plenty of secret weapons to let it stand out in the pierce competition, and it has already have enough support of the customers to ensure its interests.

All in all, KFC is a great example for the other competitors since it has been such a big success in our society and it will be a legacy in many years.
