Westernbeef.com is mainly a website of information on Western Beef,
Inc., which establishes market in some inner city neighborhoods like
Manhattan. It separates itself from those other supermarket chain.
Instead, it generally focuses on niche markets that neglected or
unnoticed or even underestimated. It is a place mainly for wholesale
business, but new retail supermarkets will be opened. By choosing
locations like metropolitan area, it helps the company to develop in a
more ethnic diversifying way. This also stimulates them to take income
levels, population density and food preferences into consideration
while dealing with the business.
Westernbeef.com is not mere source search for beef. Customers’ favorite
ingredients are on sale, exotic fruits and vegetables can also be
easily traced in their stores. This helps boost their ability to
compete with their rivals and win the market shares in the tight-up
situation.
Location of each stores are easy to be tracked for a list of shops have
been given out according to alphabetic order of names of regions.
Web-based map comes handy (just beside the list).
Anyone has comments is able to leave comment, which will automatically
be emailed to the head office. Approaches of getting hold of the
company are displayed on the website. There are several other links for
further information such as recipes and products. Available positions
are typed out on the page accompanied with resume-delivery mailbox.
Yet after I have browsed nearly all the information on the web, I still
felt that I wasn’t fully informed. There are still more I want to know
about this company. I can sense that probably Westernbeef.com is not
ready to expand their current market and go nationally or even
internationally. But this website is not very information-delivery, few
pictures of products and stores are shown, few introductions are put
out for company history, leadership, or some other social activities
and news related to the company. Even on the section of hiring, the
website doesn’t appear appealing and attractive. There is not enough
information for those who wants to get a job there. Services are not
clearly written out, which could put the company at a disadvantage if
they want to put the business back on the prosperity trail. Even if
potential clients want to browse certain useful recipes, they have to
go through troubles of clicking on different website to finally get
whatever they want. ( or sometimes maybe not even)
The cartoon on the web is cute, but the outlay is very coarse and
caress. The biggest issue is that there are not enough to be looking
forward to. If they only want to prove that they can have a website
instead of a better one that promote the brand, it’s better save the
money and energy and human resources.
