I too had a similar experience with Airtran... I was traveling from Boston to Ft. Myers on a non-stop flight, the overhead compartments were full so they took my bag and checked it. Well, upon arriving in Ft. Myers my husbands sunglasses were stolen from the front pouch. They were kind enought to leave the case. I did file a report at the airport and was told that I would be contacted shortly ( a few days) by someone at Airtran. 10 days later, no call. Whoever did steal the sunglasses had to do it very quickly becuase it was put directly on the plane and was one of the first ones off. I too will never fly Airtran.

Yesterday 6/5/2008 we took flight 460 from Orlando to Baltimore, in the meantime our luggage was gone through by an employee, and I had about $25 to $30 in change in one of my outer pouches in my bag. The zipper was completely closed, so that means it didn’t fall out! I called the airline Air Tran. The lady I spoke to told me that I would have to drive 122 miles back to Baltimore to file a claim; I wasn’t concerned about the money but more so that an employee was searching our luggage and stealing! Without a care at all the lady hung up the phone like it was an everyday occurrence. On a personal Note neither I nor anyone I know will ever fly with Air Tran again! I will post my personal experience on everything I can. Air Tran is a little less expensive but at what cost? Air Tran has a saying (Please don’t stare at the other flights they can’t help that they are more expensive) by all means don’t! Make sure you have your eyes on your luggage!
