CitySports.com: An Online Sporting Goods Retailer
An American sporting goods retailer, City Sports, Inc. currently operates mostly on the east coast of the United States. Some of the products marketed by it includes athletic apparel, footwear, and equipment. Two Boston locals founded City Sports, Inc. in the year 1983. It is said that the main concept for starting such a store came to those two friends when they couldn't easily find a basketball pump in their nearby locations. This gave them the boost to start their own sporting goods store. Currently, the company operates over 16 stores in 6 states.
With an intention of expanding its reach as well as its market potential, City Sports, in 2001, collaborated with a leading third party solutions provider to offer it vast selection of sporting products through the Internet.
Some of the brands sported on the website include - 180'S, 8th Summit, Adidas, Brooks, Camelbak, Crocs, Danskin, Fuel Belt, Gamma, Jansport, Luminox, Mizuno, Polar, Puma, Reebok, Spenco, Ultra Swim, V-Moda, Wilson Racquet, Yogitoes, Zoot Sports, and many many others. The above listed are just some of the brands that I randomly picked from the website. The list of brands displayed on the website just goes on and on.
A very vibrantly structured website, it is included with all the details and products that has been categorically listed for you convenience. Towards the top of the webpage, you will come across tabs such as Home, Brands, Store Locations, FAQs, and Contact us. Though, currently you can't buy any products online. On the website you can come across the displayed content - "The New CitySPorts.com is Coming Soon. If you like our stores you're going to love our new website."
You can even sign up for their mailing list by submitting your email address at the provided space. Once you sign up, they might send you a special offer when they launch the new citysports.com. After the launch, they will let you know about new product arrivals at City Sports and notify you when they're having special events or promotions. Now how good will their service be, only time will tell. So let's wait with crossed fingers till they open their doors to the Internet users.
