Yahoo! Messenger is an all-in-one Internet communication tool, using which you can communicate literally to anyone in the world, provided you and the person you are going to communicate with, has a computer with Internet connection.

Yahoo! Messenger allows you to communicate with anyone who uses Yahoo! Messenger and Windows Live Messenger, provided you know the person's Yahoo! ID or Windows Live Messenger ID. To add contacts to your Messenger List you have to: import one or more contacts from your Yahoo! Address Book and your Microsoft Outlook list of contacts; use the Add to Messenger List window; add a contact from your address book; and then add a contact from an instant message when the sender isn't on your Messenger List.

The Messenger List is a list of contacts (your friends, family, and associates) who also use Messenger. Populate your Messenger List with contacts by asking people who have a Yahoo! ID if you can add them to your list. You can also invite people to join you in using Messenger. Once you and a contact agree to communicate, you can use any of Yahoo! Messenger's features to interact with each other.
