Share Your Funny Personal Videos through YouTube
YouTube is a free online video streaming service that allows anyone to view and share videos that have been uploaded by its members. Apart from this youtube.com also allows you to share your video across the Internet through websites, mobile devices, blogs, and email. YouTube was founded in February 2005. Sequoia Capital provided funding for YouTube in November 2005, and about a month later in December the website was officially launched. Chad Hurley and Steve Chen became the first members of the YouTube management team. Currently Chad Hurley is serving as the Chief Executive Officer of YouTube, and Steve Chen is serving as the Chief Technology Officer. In November 2006, Google Inc. purchased YouTube. There have also been many partnership deals with content providers such as CBS, BBC, Universal Music Group, Sony Music Group, Warner Music Group, NBA, The Sundance Channel, etc.
You will have to register with Youtube for uploading a video. After registering, for uploading video you'll need to have a device that can capture digital movies such as a camcorder, digital camera, or even your cell phone. You then have to copy the movies to your computer, and then you can either upload them as-is or edit them with software such as iMovie or Windows Movie Maker to add titles and special effects. YouTube accepts a wide range of video file formats such as .WMV, .AVI, .MOV, and .MPG. There are two ways to upload your video: by using their Single File Uploader and the YouTube Uploader. Depending on which upload method you choose, your videos can be up to 100MB or up to 1GB in size.
YouTube's members' rate videos they like, and YouTube reviews highly-rated and recent videos for consideration in the "Featured Videos" section of the home page and the featured videos on the "Categories" page. Although you can watch all the videos listed in YouTube, the website doesn't allow you to download any of the videos. However, there are many ways to download your favorite clip on to your computer. My personal favorite is Videodownloadx.com, as it has a very easy user interface, and you can download your favorite video clip in a jiffy.
