Google earth is a basic tool that gives you a nice photo rendered look at anywhere in the world. The technology that created this program was once employed by the US military so there were bugs and issues that had to be dealt with on its relealse. The site had to blur or remove potential security risks if made public such as US naval bases and world government buildings.

The tool is free to the public and is a very cool tool to use rather than your standard map or atlas. Check out the screenshots below.
