Here is what I liked about www american express com:
- The homepage is simple yet effective. All you need to know is presented and its not a long page.
- There were some added links for their readers. My favorite was an entertainment page that showed you the entertainment options (arts, culinary, family, film, music, sports, gold card events ) in select big cities around the U.S. Although this is a cool feature, it's not completely comprehensive. There was only one option in San Francisco for Arts and Theater.
- There is a constant top toolbar on every link so navigability is good.

What I didn't like about www.americanexpress.com:
- There wasn't a great tool for comparing the different types of American Express cards. I much prefer creditcards.com for this feature. However, I did like the site more than discovercard.com.
- There is a questionnaire to find the best card for you. I would rather just see the cards in a side by side format with all of my options right in front of me. It takes too long to take a questionnaire. Plus, this feature was broken or wasn't mac compatible.
- I don't understand why they have travel services except to make commissions.

Recommendation: If you're looking for an American Express credit card, this is a good place to start. I still would check out creditcards.com first before you sig-up to make sure you are choosing the right card for your needs.

Like every one else, where's the bonus? Frankly, the flap on the envelope for bill payment usually has some sort of list of items you can get using accumulated points, but none of the items listed are in any way something that I would be remotely interested in. Actually, I believe in the past I may have purchased a pair of binoculors and possibly one other item (can't remember what). You always have to pay a delivery charge, and frankly, once received I didn't think they were worth the cost for delivery. Magazine subscriptions and DVDs are the usual offering, and I don't own a DVD player, and the last thing I need is another magazine subscription.

I am a new member of Amerian Express and find your point system and bonus awards seem to be "bait and Switch" offers from the desired companies. I was happy to find a floor lamp at LAMPS PLUS but the prices are always one penny below the $250 necessary to get the $50 credit. This is so obvious! maex gets worse every month. Offer you a $120 jewelry gift bonus and you can't find the site. A few years ago I canned the Gold and blue cards and am about to drop the green Who needs to pay for a yearly membership fee when there are so many cards available with no fees and better bonuses. Ps, I have been a amex card member since 1981. Figure out the cost of yearly memberships for 26 years and I paid for any offers they may haves given me. On top of that, amex charges the highest fee to retailers for using their card. And guess what? Then the retailer passes those costs on to you.

Hi. I use a Mac (10.3.9) and have both Firefox and Safari browsers. I cannot access www.americanexpress.com. At times I can get to the homepage but cannot log in. It tells me it cannot find or connect to the server. At work I use the same browsers on a Mac and have no problems. I checked my Firewall and have it turned off. I bought these after confirming from Amex and 1-800-944-1697 at Gift Services (address: Gift Services, Inc., 225 High Ridge Road, East Building, Stamford, CT 06905) . They confirmed that there will be no charges and I bought these junk for $120 (not even work $10). It comes in "BLACK drabby Boxes"; never seen a "GIFT" or a "Bonus" ever wrapped in such a manner.

I have been trying to address an issue with you still allowing people to charge to a corporate card that I cancelled two months ago! It would be nice if you cared enough about your customers to provide a method of feedback. I recently received a letter from H. Figueroa, a supervisor in your customer service department, basicly stating that I will continue to be billed untill the end of time. I now know that I will never apply for another American Express card!
When will you respond to all the "my bonus center" complaints

This is NOT an American Express website. This is a website that tells you how to get different credit cards. Yopur complaints or questions are being directed to the wrong source.

I deleted your comment because someone could use your number for purchases. This is not American Express's website; it's just a review of their site. Type www.americanexpress.com in the url bar to go to their website. Be careful, never leave your card number anywhere someone could find it and use it. Best of luck.
