Here's what I liked about American Idol.com:

• The site clearly features upcoming shows and what's coming next on the American Idol t.v. show.
• They do a great job of showcasing the contestants: the drop down box on the navigation bar allows you to choose a season, then the top 12 of that season are shown with pictures and stats.
• When you click on the contestant there is a bio, answers to questions, video and a photo gallery.
• My Idol is a cool feature: the message boards are a great way for fans to communicate, Idol blog gives you up to date info, etc.
• Behind the scenes photos is a cool feature and is organized better than the videos.

What I didn't like about www american idol com:

• A few of the links were broken.
• The hompage is littered with ads, is not aesthetically pleasing, and is way too busy.
• The site isn't organized well.
• The videos are a plenty, but there is not enough text to showcase what you are about to watch.

Recommendation: If you know what you're looking, www.americanidol.com will probably get you there. The photos and contestant information are great. Although the site is very busy, it probably appeals to its demographic.

Rating: 7 out of 10. For a hit show, the site should be better.

The judges are awful this year. I think they must just be tired of the whole process. Paula was disgusting with the first audition from Birmingham (Erica Skye) and Randy and Simon were almost as bad. They have never been this disrespectful before and I just wonder why, now? Paula definitely acted as if she was on something. If they don't shape up I will definitely stop watching the show. Also, they are suppose to be commenting on voices not peoples' appearances (Bush Baby).

My wife and I have enjoyed watching the show since it began. My favorite part is the comically bad auditions. I wonder how many other people would enjoy watching some of those again. I suggest a DVD collection of those bad auditions, with proceeds from sales to go to the Save the Music foundation. Thanks.

At the beginning of each season, there are thousands of contestants who show up for the audition. I would like to know the process for selecting those persons we see on TV. Does the judges actually see and select from all those persons who show up for the audition or is there some other type of screening process?

I think a great choice for a new judge would be PAT BENNITAR. She can do it all. From opera to jazz ,to blues, ballads ,to rock. She writes and arranges. She would be great to replace Paula with.

My comment is concerning the contestant that was given a second chance on Tuesday in San Antonio Texas. I think that the contestant has a very rare talent and I think that her facial expressions are the very thing that makes her unique. The panels of judges viewed it as a bad habit but I think that music comes from the soul. To request her to change her facial expressions will be a disadvantage to the contestant. Her focus will be on trying not to use those facial expressions and not on her singing. I think that was a bad call by the judges and I hope that they will reconsider and allow the contestant to be herself. We are all unique in our own way. Thanks to Simon for recognizing a true talent and I think that there is bright future for that contestant. The first song she sang, her facial expressions allowed her to dig deep into her soul.

I think America will embrace her.

hey I just have to say the show is really good but why emmbarass those people on tv when others know they cant sing. I dont think it fair for those who were picked to be on tv to just screw up on tv where millions of people watch. But other than that it is a good show and it shows many people that are very talented and can sing beautifully!

Hello Guys, I always enjoy watching American Idol. I have a show idea for you !

First allow me to set this up for you. You see I am a "baby boomer", 57 years old, and that

of course disqualifies me from auditioning for your show. So, that gave rise to the notion of

how interesting it would be to add a "Baby Boomers" category to your show, requiring all

participants to be at least 50 years old.

To support this idea, I recommend that you strongly consider persons like Patti Labelle,

Dione Warwick, Areetha Franklin, Gladys Knight, Lou Rawls, James Brown, Kenny Rogers,

Harry Belafonte, Sammy Davis Jr., Frank Sinatra, Perry como, and many, many others.

My point is, all of these entertainers continued to belt out fantastic vocals way pass the age

of 50 years old. Well there are many of us out here who never got that BIG BREAK, but we

still have the ability to bring great vocals to the stage !!! Many of us have had major

situations in our lives, such as raising grandchildren, major surgery, and other things that

would not allow us to continue persuing our dreams!

I honestly believe if you had a "side kick" "baby boomers" talent competition, you ratings would continue to go right through the rough! Please give this idea great thought and

consideration. You could always try something preliminary to see what kind of response you get, and how much response you get. There really are a lot of talented baby boomers out here !!! GIVE US A TRY!

Hey, American Idol is awesome. My favorite season was when Kelly Clarkson was on it. She is the bomb and i think she is a good inspiration. I hope to be on American Idol when i turn 16 (now 15). I really want to try out but i dont want my feelings hurt when i have to face Simon with the bad news because i WILL cry if its bad and probably if its good. Paula is the best judge because she tries her hardest not to hurt any feelings. I love You Paula! Last night for the "judges" to pick the no talent girl over Marissa Rhoades was unbelievable!~!!!!!!....Marissa sang better than most of the 12 females who were let throuh. Are the judges on something????Brain damaged???Taking bribes??!!! Something fishy is stinking up the place. The same goes for the choice of little talent,"Sundance" over Tommy....He could'nt touch Tommy's talent and skill with a million foot pole..Both "choices" were the worst example of the lack of talent on the part of the so called"judges"..who could try not to be so tone deaf and ignore real talent over mediocrity...what a bunch of B>S>!!!!Didn't they cut people for forgetting or messing up the lyric? Well, Barbarella or whatever her name was did just that and is barely a passable vocalist..in the back of the choir, maybe!!!!Also, the red haired Caucasion kid , I forget her name should also be way way back in the choir...there was a young African American young lady with very big hair and an equally BIG voice that was cut, and once again straight mediocrity won again???!!!! I'm responding to ryan seacrest thanking only Randy & Paula on Tues, Feb 20th. That was very Immature. It sounds to me like ryan cares more about being popular with the "Simon bashers", than acting like a professional host. American Idol is pretty interesing this year.....I do think that these guy have become more of a scripted show, though. It's quite obvious Paula is on something, and maybe this helps their ratings...I know it sounds stupid, but that's what they know viewers want to see...how she's gonna act the next time..as well as Simon being even uglier and ruder than ever going as far as putting people's looks down!!! Please, finally leave Paul Abdul alone and quit accusing her of being drunk. She is a wonderful person, terrific performer and excellent judge. Why do people keep picking on such a lovely person as Paula. Leave her alone already. Also, I wish everyone would leave Simon alone. He's an excellent judge and gives constructive criticism, which the show needs desperately. The contestants need to hear what is real, not just a bunch of hogwash. Let's give credit to Simon for being honest.

I think that the judges are there to be honest with everyone. All the people that I know, including myself think that Paula is a wonderful person. I'd really like to see Ryan stop this nonsense. Seems like he is continually instigating something with or about Simon. He very well could have affected Chris Slidell's outcome last week. It's the judges job to critique even when it is harsh and Simon knows his stuff. Ryan just looks bad when he butts in or has dissing remarks. It's as though he does that trying to make himself appear superior...but it doesn't work. In the beginning it seemed Ryan was being groomed to be the next Dick Clark, but now the only thing they have in common is youth..Dick always looked young and Ryan is always' acting' young. At some point someone needs to realize the impact that our idol voters have on the contestants. I think there are alot of close-minded voters, whose irrational thinking may turn a hit show like American Idol, into an unfair-life shattering disaster. Randy(good guy) and especially Simon(funny, at times but a bit heartless to the contestants) never really stick up for the best when they are sent home. Simon's comments have a huge impact on voters decisions (like Amy). Paula is excluded because she is the most genuine and most times she keeps it real. I hear all the time that it's a singing contest, so why is song choice leading in the decision for one to stay or go. When mistakes like sending Nicole, Amy, and Rudy home happen, people like me loose faith or intrest in a show like A. Idol, and I watched/taped it fromday one. It becomes a joke, I almost do not want to watch it this season. I really looked forward to the soulful sounds of Amy and Nicole. They were unpredictable which is great. Although Lakisha maybe the best singer, you can predict her performance, and of course giving her all credit due, she brought it last week. However the unique ones like Amy, Nicole, Rudy, and even Paul who was interesting, they were all over-looked. We need to look a bit close at who's voting and their motivation.

I even show great concern for the Black/African American performers because sometimes they're sent home early and they are already winners before the show comes to an end (so look-out Lakisha). I'm sure people are excluded based on racism, lookism, whether they're a crowd pleaser/entertainer, and the good old phrase song choice. So let's keep it real it's not just the singing, it's the American Idol to be exact (in other words, who America idolizes).

I would like to know why the judges wants the contestants to sound more like the original singers of the songs that are performed by the contestants? It appears to me that the judges do not know originality for each contestants because I belief they lack originality themselves. I would not expect a contestant who sings a song by Celine Dion or some other "BIG" singer to sound EXACTLY like them because the judges believes the song was TOO BIG for the contestants. Then when the judges at some more of time select songs during the competition to sing, the judges songs are just as BAD. Although, the judges as SOME knowledge in MUSIC does not make them to be the best judges to say who can really sing. Also, the judges has a habit of underminding the audience by saying negative remarks that eventually will have a major impact on the audience judging. PLEASE! Do not tell me it does'nt. Everybody is not able to sing the songs actually the way the judges wants them to sing. Everybody can not sing pop, blues, r&b, jazz, gospel, etc. in this competition, however it appears they are trying and for the judges to say a song is to "BIG" for them because of the original artists is ludicrous. You have other artist singing other artist songs with a little of authencity, but not completely. And when the contestant is too, too, original, the judges gives negative remarks. For example, when I hear Anita Baker sings, I know it is Anita Baker singing before I acknowledge the song she is singing and she could be singing a song from a "BIG" artist who actually sings this song. Therefore, I believe you need to ASK yourself (Judges) what do you really want from these amateurs of singers who wants to sing. I believe, you need to give a criteria to the contestants and explain what you expect from because I believe you (JUDGES) do not know what you want at ALL? And to attack someone wardrobe is totally unprofessional. Everyone can not dress like the judges. Also, the contestants are working with what they have. Are Judges there to judges appearance after being selected, when that should have been done during the try-outs. This competitions is about SINGING and not VANITY!!! However, I believe a contestant comes to competition looking like anything, but the best they can be. Also, why the judges should comment how a contestant dress while singing a song. Who cares?!?!?! The judges sometimes can be just a VAIN in appearance than singing.

i do love AI but i get tired of the judges being critizied. simon can be overly gruff, but ultimately his critiques are very accurate, same with randy. i think paula tries hard to be nice/gentle, because she knows that simon in his honesty hurts some feelings,although she has been more direct this year.people are finding simon's criticism of how contestants are dressed to be out of line. obviously the voice is the most important but it does take the whole package to sell a performer.after 6 seasons i can't believe contestants don't know what to expect from the judges. I also get irrated with contestants that move on that are obviously not as talented but are pretty or handsomeI hate when contestants are arrogant and nasty because they don't like what they hear,even though it's usually accurate criticism! Tonights show was a travesty. I can't figure out what people are thinking. My opinion is that 3 of the 4 kicked off tonight did not deserve to go. Sundance and Sabrina especially. Wake up america. Totally shocking

There is something seriously wrong as Sanjaya is still there. He doesn't have the looks, talent or experience. The American people cannot be voting for him. The votes he is receiving obviously have nothing to do with talent. There is some other reason he is in the top 12. I find it more than odd. I agree the judges should be able to step in make a decision, as in this case, it is more than obvious that Sanjaya should be gone. He knows he should not still be in the competition and should step down but won't. I have a very eerie feeling about this.

One more thing to say. Maybe the judges should do all the voting until the final 12. At least then CRAP singers like Sanji or what ever that no singing little punks name is wouldn't have made the final 12., and Sabrina would have had a fair shake

I am rerally upset with america for voting them off, they were better singers then two of three of the others that made it. Its really sad.

This was a bad decision that america made Thursday. Two of the better singers were kicked off the show, Sundance and Sabrina should still be there. I think they deserve antoher chance to have another chance to prove they should be on the show. I will not watch another episode of this show that is a rigged show. They need to fix the problem.

Wow, Sundance was one of the best singers. Him leaving so soon makes me not want to watch idol next week.

THE CONTESTANTS ON AMERICAN IDOL ARE THERE FOR A SINGING CAREER OR IN SOME CASES IT GOS TO TELEVISION MOVIE CONTRACTS , WHEN OUR FAVORITE PERSON IS VOTED OFF, IF YOU BELIEVE THAT AMERICAs VOTE WAS WRONG THERE ARE OTHER WAYs THAT WE CAN HELP OUR FAVORITE PERSON ,,,, THINK OF OTHER T.V. SHOWs THAT WILL GIVE THEM THE EXPOSURE THEY DESERVE OPRAH?? ELLEN??

Part of the problem may be that so many teenie boppers are voting. There are fan websites dedicated to Sanjaya with postings from all the little girls who love him and think he should win because they think he is cute.They are too young to appreciate talent and strictly vote for the young boy they have a crush on. Too bad there isn't a way to enforce a minimum age for voting. And when votes result in good entertainers being kicked off the show while weak ones stay, the judges should be able to step in and make a good decision on who should stay and who should go.

I think half of these people are here only because they have so many family members and people who want to vote for them. So they do even though they have horrible voices. Yes I like American Idol, I have watched it from day one, but I have to say that this year has been exhausting to watch. I agree with alot of people committing on this past weeks voting. In the past two weeks you have had about 4 people voted off that should have stayed in. I think American Idol needs to change up their rules for the voting procedure. What I think should happen after this horrific year. I think that the judges should doing the voting up until the last 6 contestants are left. It doesn't matter to me if they are 3 boys and 3 girls, 5 boys and 1 girl, all boys and 0 girls, you get my point. This way all the really good singers that truly deserve to be left will actually have a singing competition between themselves. This is going to continue to happen with contestants wrongly getting voted thru because of their looks and not their talent. If it was a beauty competition then, well there you have it. I like to watch the show and pick my favorite out of the contestants, but this year I have not been able to really get into the show because of what is going on with the voting. It is really heart wrenching to watch week after week and see such talent being wasted. I'm not sure that I will watch American Idol after this week. Its not a singing competition any more and that is really sad. I love music and this just isn't working.

I was in shock when Sundance was voted off the show, as well as Sabrina. What a joke...Sanjaya is just a young boy who cannot sing. I,ve have watched Idol since day one...never again....to stressful when you know the wrong person got voted off.

Through the years I have watched the concern by the three judges when a seemingly better contestant is eliminated by Americas choice. Thus making this show a contest of which of the contestant's area is bigger and can then produce the most votes. It becomes a constest of area favoritism rather than a qualitative one. However, there is a solution. Another program "Grease, Your the one I want" uses a format where on pair of the bottom four can be saved by the judges. I wish you could come up with something similiar. After all you were responsible for the beginning judgements. Shouln't you be in on the final as well.

I was not home Thursday night to see the eliminations. Checking the American Idol web site to find out who was eliminated, I came upon the comments above and read some of them. As a retired teacher, I am amazed at the poor spelling and grammer in the comments. Maybe some of these writers should be studying their English lessons instead of watching television. i think that with all the outsourcing that the USA does with India, Sanjaya may be the next American Idol. I called the gas company in my state and talked to someone in India. I'm not prejudiced - I just think the person who wins should be able to sing. I hope I'm wrong but I do feel his votes come from all this outsourcing for customer service reps.

I watched the 3/13/07 show when the contestants sung Diana Ross songs. And the show after this one when Diana sung. she commented at the end that the show touches children every where. I hope that you all as the judges keep that in mind because your comments and Ryans' on being GAY. were very disrespectful and distasteful. Some of the commercials during the show were also promoting sexual things. T. V. has lost all respect for children. But yet peopl wonder why they turn out to do some of the things they do. I truly hope that there are no changes in the current trio of judges. I think they are American Idol. They are all great judges of talent. As for Simon, I look forward to his critiques. Randy and Paula are also genuine and honest in their critiques although less brusque than Simon. The contestants are told to choose the right songs, to relax, to have fun with the song and own it. Some of them have the talent, they just don't pick a song that brings out their best vocal range. An added comment about PAULA, I honestly, truly believe what she says, "she does not drink". She has accomplished much too much and is far too talented to even be a working alcoholic.

Ok, looks like there are a considerable amount of negative comments on here about Sanjaya Malakar. To be honest, his performance last night was one of the best. He is young, but he has more talent than 95% of you on here leaving tastless, prejudice comments. I love the American Idol. I used to be a professional singer. I started out at the Apollo Theatre in New York many years ago. I am now a gospel singer in two choirs at my church. Melinda, Lekisha, Jordan, and Stephanie are the best singers on your show. Melinda and Lekisha sounds like professionals already. The quality of their voices proves that each week they perform. I just started to enjoy this show as I thought there are some amazing talent being shown. What I was completely shocked at and also dismayed and disappointed that Stephanie was voted off. Comparing her talent with some of the others (and I won't mention any), I just couldn't believe it. What are the voters thinking of? This is a beautiful, poised young lady with an amazing voice. And that little girl crying in the audience while Sanjaya was singing, believe me I was crying too, except for different reasons. He may be cute but come on lets get real this is a singing competiton. As for the judges they did a disservice to Sanjaya and America by not telling him what they were really thinking about his performance and saying things like "man you really came out of yourself" etc. Too many very good singers went off the show way too early and some not mentioning any names "Sanjaya" stayed on way too long. American Idol totally has us hooked in our family. Randy is truly the best and most fair judge. I don't think its right the way Simon continues to put down what the contestants wear. After all his own advice is "People this is a SINGING competition." His voice and singing ability is not good enough to carry him in the music industry. He needs to rethink his strategy and apply himself elsewhere. Sanjaya might be reason for so many to leave. But that does not mean that he is responsible for their fate. He has melody and has mellow tone. IF you know about music, you know that he can sing well - he has control on different ranges and what we call crests and falls. But I do certainly agree that unless he gets a more manly and deep voice, he cannot sing like a real star. I also do not deny the fact that Top Ten is a different league altogether and he DOES NOT DESERVE to be there. IT is not about talents, but about bringing it to a platform and connecting with the audience. If you see real talent and the ability to connect with people, I see Lakisha, Jordin, Melinda, Stephanie, and Balek Lewis on Star Table. Am from the Caribbean and I have been watching American Idol since its inception. I think the show is great as it gives singers a chance they might not have gotten. Look at Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, Carrie and now Fantasia to name a few. Anyway, the Judges, especially simon are doing a great job, but it is up to the American people to keep the more talented singers on the show. Instead of bashing Sanjaya they should put the votes where it counts. I think that the kid has talent but he is surrounded by more talented singers than he is thus he looks lackluster. It is not his fault. I will continue to watch the show in support of the more talented singers and hopefully in the end talent prevails.

My wife and I have been watching American Idol recently. We assumed that with all the music and singing, this was a vocal talent contest. We also agreed with the judges most of the time, because we thought the comments were made to help the contestants choose songs that fit them. But, when Stephanie Edwards and Gina Glockson were voted off and other individuals who can't sing half as well still remain on the program, obviously this is not a vocal talent contest. Why don't you, along with the singing, have a comedy session and a swim suit contest? The recent results have discouraged us from watching your program and you have done nothing to correct the situation. So, we no longer support the American Idol program and will not watch it anymore. I don't expect a reply and don't want one.

The sensitivity and compasion of last nights "give back" show was erased when the ending was so cruel to Jordin. I had tried several times to call and donate only to get a busy signal and after the ending of the show my desire to help out was overshadowed by Ryan's insensitivity.

I called in last night to donate. They were so busy that the operators computers were going way too slow. I was almost done with the donation and my operator's computer lost it's conneection and she had to tell me to call back. But I did tell her to pass on a saying that I personally created, over [2] months ago. I am just an older person who watches Am.Idol every Tuesady and Wednesday evening. I enjoy the show and do my share of voteing. I too, don't understand sometimes how America votes. But, I am hopeing that it is fare. I love America Idol and will hate to see it be over. I love Simon, Paula and Randy and Ryan. They make the show. I think they are all great people. OK now i love american idol! But after last night and them getting rid of Phil Stacey thats not even right he was way better then 2 of the others. I dont even wanna watch it anymore after last night. I dont know whats wrong with ppl voting for some of these ppl i mean i cant stand to see Melinda sing. Jordans pretty good she had an off night but shes still in there. Blake should have gone last night and Chris should have stayed thats for sure. But Phil Stacey ROCKS and i hope he gets a record deal out of all this. Melinda- probably the best voice but winning depends on how good a performer she can be

Blake- The most original and probably a musical genious/ winning depends on how many bee-boppers or younger people vote

Jordin- Excellent voice and a future superstar, winning depends on her consistency in each of the up coming weeks

Lakisha- Excellent voice but not able to use it in all the different styles, winning depends on her adaptability to sing more variety of songs. By the last 4 or 5 shows she could be the one to leave next

What a huge mistake on not continuing Melinda to the finals. We all know she was the most talented - not only vocally, but in selling the number - whatever she sang. What happened? Did someone have some clout? On Regis and Kelley's program they asked their audience their preference Blake or Jordin - then asked how many would have prefered Melinda? The applause was great!
