What I liked about citibank.com:

  • Citibank navigates really well. It's very easy to find what you need and get it.
  • Their Planning section is very informative. They have useful articles and advice for their users; all of this is for free.
  • Their credit card page displays information very well. If you know you want a Citibank credit card, it's easy to choose which card you want. If you are not sure of the type of card, check out this review of www.creditcards.com
  • I liked the site more than AmericanExpress.com and DiscoverCard.com, but not as much as capitalone.com

  • A few of their pages are a bit too busy. I would prefer a bit more streamline and not as much text.

I received a new interest rate over the phone and was told they would e-mail me verification of this and S. Larson did. Also, I think I talked to a different employee and they were supposed to send me information on how to get to my account on the computer and a number of some kind to get in my account. I did not receive this information, I only received an advertisement to take a trip. Could you help me with this? I am new at this and do not know how to get to my account. I went to www.citibank .com but am still confused as to what to do.

I thought I always pay my bills too early. I send in my check payment the moment I receive the bill thinking it will arrive ahead of time, but it shock me how in the world my next month bill suddenly increased to double my usual payment. Reason was: my paymnet was late...I cannot understand unless local mails takes a month to arrive another local destination.

This is unbelievable!!!!!! I too have been on here forever trying to pay and change address!! glad to hear I am not alone either! they can have my card back too and I am shredding it at this moment!!! What a major rip off!! My question - If there are so many of us in this situation why hasn't anything been resloved??? Glad I just started to use the card and don't have much charged on it - and found out now to shred it! I have never applied for a CITI credit card, however I recieved a pin number for a credit card in the mail. I would like to ensure that there is no active credit card under my name. I do not desire to have a CITI credit card. Please check you database.

Citibank has some wonderful subprime mortgages for sale at a big discount in case anybody's interested. It's the sleaziest of the big banks. Everything they offer is full of tricks and traps for the unwary.

I rec'd a credit card in the mail with the pin # in the same envelope, I didn't activate it. I called a # on the back of the card to tell them to cancel the card. A kid that said he was in Manila, Philippines, insisted that I give my 9 digit SSA #, I refused. I got a call back from somebody stating that there was unusual activity on my acct and that this was a fraud alert. Are you guys a big scam or what?

There are better credit cards than CitiCards. USAA, for example. Citicards may well be the worst offender in jacking interest rates up for not fair reason and imposing unreasonable late fees and charges.

Have a savings account. Impossible to find the rates of interest I am earning on these accounts and they never tell when their rates are decreased. Just try to find what are the rates you are getting on your savings. Oh bty try to send a message. It never gets through.

If everyone feels as you do about the difficulties in dealing with Citibank, its Citicard website, and especially the late charges incur at no fault of your because of poor service. Contact the Better Business Bureau and/or the Federal Government Consumer site to voice your concern. This has got to stop for everyone protection and rights as a Credit card holder.

CitiBank's tricks and traps (e.g. universal default which means that they lure you in with a teaser rate and even if you pay Citibank on time they jack up your interest rate if you are late with a payment on another account) are legal but vey misleading and unfair. There are several bills in Congress now that will outlaw some of CitiBank's worst abuses.

In the meantime READ THE FINE PRINT!!!

I received my new credit card, good till 2010 in July. One card in my name was received. My Password is my Mother's maiden name , a change since my husbands death 5/1006. When I tried to use it to treat guest for dinner in Co.; it was denied. My guests had to pay for dinner. Customer Service assured me it would not happen again. However it happened 2 more times to my humiliation,in the hotel I was staying at & a Museum. I havent used the card again as I've no confidence that it will be blocked again. No apology,nor satisfactory explanation has been received although I have never paid less than the full charges when due for more than 10 years.

Citi NRI is the worst website ever built. For one the login is kinda goofy. You have a complex 16 digit login ID that you can mask with a user id. However your user id is mapped to your login id on each computer (Basically I can have as many user ids as I have computers.) You delete cookies and you are back to the drawing board. The password you gotta type in using your mouse using some goofy onscreen keyboard. Then you go to a cluttered screen with over 200 links. God help you if you want to find anything there. If you want support you have to send an email from the support link, however if you send an email from your mailbox you will never get a response. After a week or so somebody responds without reading your question. Keep in mind the response never appears in your mailbox (Your mailbox always shows empty). Once you go to the support link and see the inadequate message, you are required to respond to that message (They call is a query. I guess they think their employees are like databases you execute queries against). However make sure you don’t click on any link before you respond; because once a message is read, it is automatically removed from the support link taking away any ability to respond ACH transfers take from 3 weeks to 6 months (They take money out of your source bank account on the same or next day but take from weeks to sometimes 6 months to credit any information into your account). The other scheme they have going on is they turn your account into an inactive / dormant status for inactivity (meaning moving money in or out of the account) thereby locking you out of your account and trapping any cash you have in your account. If you want your account to be operational, they ask you to physically go to a branch in California or to one of their offshore offices in India. If you don’t you will not have access to your cash. By law they are required to notify you prior preventing you from giving you access to your account. They get around this by changing your account to an inactive status first which prevents you from transacting on your account (even though you can log in normally and look at your balance and stuff giving you an illusion of normalcy). After a further status of inactivity they change it to “Dormant” totally preventing you from having any access to your account. Finally in terms of support it is impossible to find a telephone number to their support desk. If you ever need to call CITI NRI Helpdesk their number is 800 248 4674 Overall CITI is a very unethical bank. The most unethical I’ve seen so far especially in their international dealings (US Regulators and guarantees have forced them to maintain a certain level of honesty and transparency in the US). Their website is the least user friendly of all websites and CITI NRI is the worst by far of any banking site. It’s a mess
