Just the right choice for Springsteen fans

The official website of Bruce Springsteen is something which has the knack to make any Springsteen fan go gaga! There is nothing noteworthy about the design of the site, yet the discretion in selection of the photographs adds a unique charm to the site. The home page of the site - Brucespringsteen.net appears more or less like a ‘life-size web advertisement'. This page accommodates only two links Watch Videos and Enter Site apart from the outbound links that are included in the top of the page. Majority of the site is occupied with latest Bruce Springsteen news.

The Enter Site option lands you in the actual site which screams the artists' name in Helvetica font in the top corner below a filmstrip of the artists' work. The landing page is completely dedicated for news and features of the artist and carries links to the categories Live, Devils & Dust, Songs, Albums, Search the Lyrics and Store. This page is quite a lengthy one that you need to keep scrolling to read the entire content in it. It would have been better had the news been classified below separate links to enhance the navigation and the readability of the site. If you listen to Bruce's live album from 1986 / 1987 he talks about WAR and he sings the song " WAR -- WHAT IS IT GOOD FOR--ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ".Prior to singing the song he talks about how he and his father didn't get along and how his father told him that the Army would straighten him out. The day that Bruce went for his physical he was rejected due to bad leg from a motorcyle accident.When he returned home his father asked him where he was that day and he said that "I went for my induction physical ". When he tod his father that he was turned down for due to his bad leg his Father said "good-- that's good". Bruce goes on to talk about the next time it will be you young people in the audience that that will be called up for the next war --- so be aware of what your politicians are doing and become involved in politics regardless of where you stand politically or whomever you support.this recording was from a 1986 concert and we were 15 years away from the war in Iraq.Bruce ( as usual ) was correct.
