Burgerking.com: The Haven of Burgers and Sandwiches

James McLamore and David Edgerton founded Burger King's first restaurant on December 4, 1954 in a suburb of Miami, Florida. This restaurant was originally called Insta Burger King. Gaining inspiration from the McDonald line of restaurants, McLamore decided to create his own fast-food restaurant. Within five years, it had opened up five regional stores in and around the metropolitan Miami area. Round about this time, McLamore and Edgerton thought of expanding Burgerking by using the franchising system, which was a very popular method during that time.

The worldwide website of Burgerking displays a world map wherein you can select a region near you, to better understand the menu served there. The American Burgerking website welcomes visitors with an animated Spongebob and two mouthwatering burgers. There is also a revolving red menu card, which displays information regarding three of the items displayed around it. For instance, when you take your mouse pointer over the Spongebob, the card will display "SpongeBob Atlantis SquarePantis Toys Now at BK!- Find out SpongeBob's fishy secrets!" On taking your mouse pointer over the burgers, the card will change to "The King's Home Cooking - The Bacon Double Homestyle Melt and the Honey Butter Homestyle Melt. Only at BK." And lastly when you take mouse over the BK Crown Card wrapped in a red ribbon, the card will display "Tis the season to Get. Win. And Give. - No purchase necessary."

Towards the bottom of the homepage, i.e. just below the burgers you will come across An "Explore BK" tab, which just slides up displaying variety of options when you take your mouse pointer over it. The options displayed includes - Home, Menu, Nutrition, Kids, Find a Burger King, BK Crown Cards, BK Promotions, BK Cinema, BK Table Guest, BK Careers, Company Info, BK Mobile, BK Store, and Contact us.

Concerned parents can visit the link provided towards the left hand side of bottom of the page. The link will provide more information about Burgerking's commitment to promote well-balanced meals and active lifestyles to children.

The Burgerking menu encompasses some very tasty burgers and sandwiches. From flame-broiled burgers, chicken sandwiches, salads to yummy shakes and soft drinks, you can find an item that suits your kind of taste.

Re: Adopt a family for Christmas

The reason I’m writing this letter, hoping that your company will adopt my family for Christmas.

My wish would be that my children, niece and mother have a nice Christmas this year. It has been extremely difficult to financial survive particularly this year. It harden my heart knowing I’m unable to provide Christmas for my family. I work for Hospice I’m looking for a 2nd part-time job..

**I’ll be 41yrs on Christmas** (12/25/67)

I move to the Willowbrook area almost 5yrs ago so that my children can have a better education and a better chance in life. Joncale (girl- 19yrs), she was diagnosis with learning disability, she need a lot of attention, my daughter has been abuse a few years ago, she like to cook, sing, and dance – most of the time she sit in her dark room. I’m trying to do the best I can.

Jonathan (boy -16yrs), he has been diagnosis with AD, Jonathan requires a lot of attention and support, he receive extended help at school, he’s on the football team, I believe football has help him with his temper, if Jonathan can stay focus he can be another Walter (Sweetness) Payton.

Darryl Howard (boy- 12), he’s been the A honor roll since school has began, he was given the MVP basketball award May 2008, I must say he’s very good (he’s another Michael Jordan).

I help my mother Pearl Hampton, she have a pre-existing condition, she have to take medicine for the rest of her life, I also help take of my niece Jamelia Hampton (girl- 12yrs) she has a lot going on in her life.

I go to 5 food pantries, so that my family can have food to eat, the pantries mainly give can goods (mostly out dated) on a good day maybe some bananas, apples and hot dogs. 2 out of the 5 pantries the staff can make you feel low and bad about yourself sometimes they can be rude and mean.

Many times I have to decide what bills to pay due to not having enough monies to make ends meet, there’s times when have to decide whether put gas in my care or buy food for my family. My gas/heat has been disconnected since February 2008, I had to switch it into my daughters name last month. Life can be soooo overwhelming.

It would be a blessing if your company will adopt my family for the Christmas Holiday.

Thank you,

Carolyn Hampton

I have been a Burger King fan for many many years. I had my first Steak House Mushroom Swiss at the restaurant on West North Temple in Salt Lake City, Utah two days ago.

It was the WORST burger I have ev er had in my life. Dryf, tasteless and what I compare to some old cardborad with three drops of sauce on it.

Not good folks. Not good at all. Never underestimate the power of word of mouth.

A very angry and former Burger King customer.

Your AdS SAY "We Listen". Sure you do.!!!!!!!

I was a very loyal customer for the last 11 years of my Carreer at LSUHSC in shreveport ,La.& years ago I stopped for my usual, as I was enrout to my farm. My usual was a Cheesburger, DRY with onions. Than was usually 3 times weekley, until one dat they charged me 0.25 for a cup of water.I haven't stopper at the restaurant until this day, when I decided to tey them again. This was my last time, I guarntee you. I ordered to wWhoppers, one DRY and cut the pigkles on the second one.I was advised we only made them one way on this special . I advised they wouldddd produce faster salmminf a meat between the buns on one and eliminating the pickles onthe other. Again, I was told "we make them all the same wat, sir". I oredres 2 whoppers , waited 10 minutes to get then (they were not busy at all. No cars behind me and 2 customers inside. I think I have had my last dealings with this store at 1625 Kings Highway, Shreveport, La.-71103. It is sad that one who loves your Whopper has to visit other stores, to "HOPEFULLY GET IT LIKE YOU WANT IT". I have never don that --ever. But I have also learned to rearrange it like I like it, even when I have to SCRAPE off the Mayonaise GLOB and the "HINEZ" ketchep. For the last 7 years I have delibertly passed this store and go to the store on Pines Rd, where they know what "DRY WITH ONION(SIC)" MEANS.

jUST "food FOR THOUGHT--- IF YOU REALLY GIVE A DAMN.

Thanks, Chuck Fulco

Just tonight we saw your new Spongebob commerical and thank goodness our 7 year old daughter was already in bed. It was totally inappropriate for the age group you obviously are trying to target since it wrapped around a kid's meal. What in the world does a burger kids meal have to do with girls bootys and gangster rappers???? This is just so inappropriate for our kids to be watching. This has changed our whole conception of your resturant and Burger King as a business. Why do you feel you need to sell yourselves out to this kind of advertisement?? What has gotten into your since of family and moral character?? Maybe your people should watch more McDonald's commericals. From now on when our daughter is given a choice of where she wants to eat for lunch our standard answer will now be "anywhere but Burger King" Hope this commerical reels in more rappers and the kind of thugs you were appealing to because it seems obvious this is who you were trying to attract.

I have been going to Burger King on Coldwater and Victory in "North Hollywood" for a long time with my kids because I can sit at the table outside and eat while they play. Well, I was surprized yesterday to see they tore down the slides and playing area and made it all tables. I asked the workers if they knew if there was any remodeling. No one knew. It's sad because they are going to lose lots of customers, many of whom were children who like mine, played in the playing area. Now I will have to take my kids to McDonald's across the street from there, where they also have a playing area. If you want me back, Burger King, bring back your playing area for kids. It's makes a big difference. After kids play some more, they get more hungry. Get it !!! $$$$

July 13/09 I stopped at bugerking on Randolph str. Thomasville NC. I sat in Drive-Thru 4-5 Min they never knew that I was there. I pulled around to the window & the employee working just shook her head. I never seen a Manager no one ever spoke to me.Was they closed? I don't know. There wasn't anything posted any where saying that they were closed. I'm a Manager at a Fast food Rest. This is the worst customer service I've ever seen. I'm very aware of what goes on at my store with my employee's & my Customers. Poor, Poor Service.

BK used to be a favorite of ours years past. However in Laredo Tx BK tasted terrible, restaurants were usually filthy or not kept up, food was terrible and we stopped going all together. In McAllen Tx decided to invest 10-15 bucks to see if BK was better here. I was wrong, burger patty had been precooked so it was dry, french fries were cold and soggy so I could tell they had been precooked as well, ordered the cheese nuggets or crispers or whatever they are called, they were delivered to our table before I even made it back from the counter which tells me they were precooked as well (they were greasy and soggy as well.) Needles to say you've lost a customer forever.

I went to a Burger King in my area, I used a coupon that said buy a whopper get a whopper. So I asked for a whopper value to get a free whopper, It was a number one for $5.39 and 80 cents to make it a large. I happened to look at my receipt they charged me buy a whopper get a whopper free and $1.99 each for fry and soda. I explained it to the cashier who supposed to have charged me the value meal way, didn't. Then I talked to the manager and she acted like I was trying to rob the store. Even though it said buy a whopper get a whopper free any other store in my area would honor the value meal way. But not this store. She just didn't want to hear my view. She got all tough about it. I thought it was have it your way.

Won't be eating at Burger King again. Your commercial was pathetic and sad. In fact most of your commercials have been pretty pathetic for a few years now. I think this one takes the cake. Losers!

BK store on Miltary Highway, Chesapeake Va 23320.

People dont know what they are doing. 1st thing asked, in/out, advised "eat in", received meal in a bag. Happens often. On the order, I said "order from value meal", 2 wh jrs -ok, fries-questioned value meal?, 16oz drink-questioned from value meal? DUH...I said order from Value meal. Had to wait but guess what, hamburger was cold!! Sometimes I say "small drink", guess what I get, a $1.50 drink from reg menu. Cant win with these people. Sometimes I cant figure if these people have their heads up their butt or if mgmt tells them to avoid sales from value menu! I think some of both. They test my patience, convenient for lunch but very annoying.
