Dallascowboys.com: the online sports hub

As the name suggests, dallascowboys.com is a site dedicated to everything related to sports-news, events, scores and much more. Although the homepage is done in shades of grey, it not only does not look dull but exudes a ‘totally guy' feel.

There is quite a lot of information packed into the homepage itself. However, the page does not look cluttered. The toolbar on the top contains the main options- news, stores, tickets, gameday, team, fans, multimedia, DC weekly, Suites, Stadium, Cheerleaders, Community and help. Each of these has sub-sections and opens into exclusive pages. For example, ‘tickets' has these options under it-ticket information, manage your season tickets, seat map, contact ticket sales etc.

Under multimedia, you can find ‘multimedia centre,' ‘photo gallery,' ‘Dallas Cowboys Radio' etc. Photo Gallery has whole albums of games. There is an option for downloading the photos as wallpaper as well as for voting for best photo of the album.

‘Gameday' contains information on the schedule, statistics, standings and reviews of upcoming or previous games. There is also an option to purchase tickets online here. You can also check out the seating in the stadium seating map here.

Dallascowboys.com has more than just sports for its visitors. ‘Cheerleaders' is one of the main options and appears on the main toolbar. Pictures of cheerleaders in skimpy outfits welcome visitors to this site. There are options like ‘swimsuit calendars, celebrity scrapbook, desperado dancers, 2006 squad etc. here. The icons of each option are models in swimsuits themselves. There are also whole calendars which can be browsed through.

The fans option has options like blogs, fan forum, email newsletter, fan club etc. You can check out the articles in the option called ‘Hall of Fame' about players who have adorned it in the past. On the right, you will find related content like the person's career highlights, media interview, as well as an honor roll. The ‘cowboys' can meet and talk about their teams in the Dallas Cowboys Fan Zone.

The site generates revenue from the long row of advertisements which are placed in a neat row on the bottom of the pages. The section contains articles on inductees like Troy Aikman, Tony Dorsett, Tom Landry etc.

In the section called ‘Community' you can find news and featured programs of the Cowboys community. Some of them are- ‘Dallas Cowboys Annual Junior Training camps', ‘Support the fight against breast cancer' etc.
