Hi Lisa - they are spread across the world, so it would be better if you can personally visit the website and search for their contact number.
HI
Please cancel my registration as it will not allow me to gain access, as it is telling me to change my E Mail Address. This is the only E Mail address that I have so there is no point being a member (costing money ) and I cannot gain access.

Since the change over to the new Direct Dating site I have been unable to log in. I feel very dissapointed with this and wish to cancell my membership.
This site has deteriorated since the take over. It used to be a pleasure to browse - it was clear, concise and straight to the point. Now, amonsgt the plethora of questions to answer, the number of 'winks' a member has received is displayed for everyone to see along with how many times they have visited the site - embarrassing!
whats happening here - i cant get access to the site and have wasted so much time --can some one help ??
Like Eddieman I cznnot access the site. I am a paid-up premier member bujt have had no contact since 20th June. What is happening?
Unable to sign in. What has happened to existing membersand memberships paid?
I am also a premier member but have been unable to get access things have so gone down hill since the change!!!
I too have had problems logging onto the site. I much preferred the old set up, concise and much easier to browse. Too much detail this time around, how many winks you've had visits you've made etc.. It isn't user friendly, too much information needed that before you meet someone you fancy you know all about them. I changed from match.com for similar reasons though dating direct was straightforward but it has gone the same way.
I too am a premium member of Dating Direct and unable to log in although I have the right user name and password. I have recently renewed my membership and feel very angry that I can't now use the site; the only choice on site is to give my email address and then you send my user name and password I ALREADY HAVE THESE. Please sort this problem out or I shall be taking it MUCH further.
I too am experiencing everyone of the above! I miss the friendly and non-invasive system used by the original DD, before being taken over by Meetic, a not so pleasant version of internet dating. I too am having monthly direct debits taken from my account which I haven't been able to stop, but am not acknowledged as a premium member so contact make contact with a couple of appealing guys! Frustrating & costly and what is even worse - not being able to contact DD direct - it was great to have a direct email service with them. If there's a human being left at HQ, please acknowledge!

I also cannot gain access to the site. I feel as though my money has been taken from me under false pretences. it's impossible to contact anyone to let them know of the problems and meanwhile weeks and months pass without being able to get what you have paid for. This should be investigated and the people who are fleecing us made to compensate.
I am paying a premium membership and am constantly having problems with the new site. Sometimes I manage to log on but then get cut off half way through a conversation and other times I cannot get on at all. Please help! It is very frustrating not being able to get in touch with anyone about this.
I agree that there are no contact details even by eMail therefore I cannot raise that I have been charged twice to upgrade to premium membership. I have attempted several times to access the help option with no success. The premium membership should allow you to hide your profile which I have been unable to do. NOT GOOD ENOUGH
I've already submitted a review about this dating site so I wont go over old ground. I spent a great deal of time on the site last night and discovered that the HUGE majority of women members are only basic members and cannot communicate with you. I first joined Datingdirect a few years ago and met many people. I'm amazed to see that their profiles are still on the site unchanged....people giving their ages in their profile as 46 and the auto update profile says they are 49....these are OLD profiles! A significant majority of female members I looked at have not been active on the site for more than 3 months. I have recently received a number of dubious winks from "people" whose photographs look remarkably like professional pictures....the site T&Cs say that they don't use fake profiles. I'm not sure that I believe this. I have searched the company name which now owns Dating Direct through the internet (BCM)......... This company also operates telephone sex lines......which basically just make money out of premium telephone numbers. Nothing wrong with a company diversifying but it does add to the suspicion that this site is a scam.....still no way of contacting any kind of customer support via the site and no way of cancelling the auto-renewal of membership. I would strongly urge anyone tempted to joined Dating Direct NOT to do it
Bad Points
No contact us option despite emails and the privacy policy advising members to contact via the website!! No way of cancelling membership Cancellation of auto-renewal does not work. I hope I can contact my credit card company! When writing emails to members the site has HUGE difficulty in recognising keystrokes therefore it takes ages to write even a short message to someone. This is extremely frustrating.
General CommentsThis used to be a good site but since its "recent revamp" to bring it to a par with other (and less expensive) dating sites it has deteriorated. The lack of ability to contact the site owners or support and to cancel auto-renewal feels quite sinister.
Just to let you folks know (you may know this already!) but there are free dating sites out there. plentyoffish.com and freedating.com I have no affiliation to either of these sites. Im just really angry about dating direct and Im considering contacting my local trading standards. I dont know if there is anyone who can take an internet company to task.
To my mind Dating Direct is now all about fleecing people out of membership fees. No reputable company would not have email contact on their website.
I think Im going to have to cancel my credit card to avoid any auto renewal. Thank god I only paid for one months membership.
Sadly I didnt read any internet reviews before I joined the site. There are negative comments about dating direct in a number of internet review sites and scarcely any positive ones. All the negative reviews are since the site "revamp" and mirror the difficulties all the posters in this blog are having.
If you are new to internet dating and considering joining Dating Direct I would strongly urge you to look elsewhere. This no longer appears to be a reputable site.
I agree with above member and going to contact trading standards in the morning. Would anyone like to join me.
It's impossible to cancel my membership, click my account and it will not show, defaults to alerts, going to the bank in the morning to cancel card, plus takes an eternity to type, the site does not recognise key strokes, ok if your message is one letter long, here's one for DD... !
Do not join Dating Direct. I was a member and cancelled my details some years ago. For some unknown reason my profile is still on the site to my great distress and I can not remove them. Dating Direct have refused to answer any emails and have not removed my profile.
I agree with all the above comments, they are just a lot of rogues! The previous site was usable this new one isn't, as simple as that, a complete waste of time and money. I wish I could get my 6 months money back I only re-joined a week or two before the new system, how I wish I hadn't.....I felt fleeced I only wanted to join for a month to read some messages that were sent to me. Let's report them to the Trading Standards people. It's a complete SCAM! I unfortunately recommended a friend just before the new system and now feel bad about that, as she couldn't really afford it, now she has wasted her money too.....

I was a member of the old Dating Direct for many years, and met interesting people. It was worth paying for. Now I just get emails but I don't want to. I can't stop my profile being visible. How do I contact them? Does anyone have an address or phone number?
I've found you quite by accident. But what a relief! I have an old profile still on DD despite having tried to change it three times! I also had no notification of the auto renewal system and therefore money was taken out without my immediate awareness. I have fast typing skills and find typing an e-mail laboriously slow and frustrating. I also agree about the lack of contact. there is no explanation too, of how to cancel autorenewal, I had to search the site extensively to find out how and still don't know whether it will work! I too feel deluded, cheated and experience a sense of the 'sinister'.
Denise Peake.
I echo all those above who have recently been getting messages and winks as their profile is suddenly active again - I left 3 years ago and have no interest in rejoining. Please if anyone finds out how to contact DD by email do post it here.
This site is so confusing!!! Wish I had never signed up...now I cant even find out how to delete myself ...I'm glad I didnt pay...I have set my absence manager for two years!!!Sorry to anyone who trying to message me....
You can delete your account. The same happened to my boyfriend and nearly split us up. I wanted to know why all of a sudden he was back and active on the site eight months into our relationship!
Go into "My Account".
Click on "My Personal Info"
Scroll right the way down and you'll find, in tiny letters, "To delete my account click here!".
Took me ages to work it out, it's not obvious.
Tried doing what you suggest Julie but after 3 years I don't 't remember my log on details anymore - Aaagh!!
i have just joined you site and i must say i was upset, i have not got half of the things that should be on there and i also can not type on it and has you can see i cant type ok there, its not fare that i should pay for something that i cant use. please can you help me and refund the money
The new site appears to deliberately obscure the cancellation option. I am in a financial trap now with this service because I lost my password so I am unable to initiate the cancellation option online. It is outrageous that such a large business offers no telephone customer support, at this point I would be prepared to pay a £1 a minute just to cancel. And now the site has been offline for a whole hour!!!My only option now is to contact my bank and allege that DatingDirect is in breach of contract because I cannot exercise the option to terminate the contract and if the bank continues to service the monthly payment authority I will argue that the bank is working in fraudulent collusion with the new owners of DatingDirect.DO NOT trust this new site or the new owners, I say this after 1 year of good service from DatingDirect.
If anyone needs to send a registered letter to DatingDirect here is the address of the internet address's owner.DatingDirect.com LtdQuayside TowerBroad StreetBirminghamB1 2HFGB
I left Datingdirect over 2 years ago and have no interest in joining. However my details have been reactivated again against my wishes. The website and its owners should be removed altogether from the interenet.
Totally concur with all previous comments. I was member of Dating Direct (Mark 1, pre 22.6.07, before 'merger' (?) with Meetic) and met some nice people. All info on one page with good quality photo made it quick to make decisions. There were strict conditions regarding photo quality (face not in shade, no sunglasses, image not too distant etc) which now seem to be obsolete. The huge number of questions are largely irrelevant, with duplications accross categories (esp., eg, with musical tastes). The showing of 'no of winks', and who has visited you is demeaning. What can this possibly achieve? 'No of winks' is a duplicate of 'Add to favourites' functionality. The site clearly has some major bandwidth/capacity problems, as evidenced with very slow operation, including complete loss of message while composing it. Only solution I found to this was to compose message 'offline' (eg in MS Word etc), then copy and paste it into DD - totally unacceptable. I don't recall seeing, however, anyone remark about the fact that next to the Dating Direct heading is 'Beta Version', which says everything!!! This company has the audacity to take customers money, inviting them to help by commenting on the site, while still operating a test version. I have sent about 15 comments/complaints to them now, and clearly the responses are just computer generated responses, sometimes the response has absolutely no relation to the comment. I would advise everyone to do what has been advised above - vote with your feet, and advise trading standards.
Julie you are a star! I've been wanting to close my account but couldn't find that link in the small print. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
I subscribed to Dating Direct today. Went for the one month option. Once I realised they’d automatically re-bill me the following month, I began looking for the option to cancel it (the rebilling). I then discovered that there is no such option, even though they give directions to it in their help section. After about 15 minutes of frustrating searching, I clicked on a box that I thought might take me to the desired section, but no… it got me billed instantly for another 6 months! I phoned my bank, but they couldn’t stop the payments, although they did find me an address to write to. It is possible to contact them via the site as long as you’re not signed in. They give you two options in a drop-down menu - retrieve your access codes or indicate an identification problem...
I'm glad I found these comments. I too have just had my membership "Auto-Renewed". I like you have tried to find out how to cancel it and there is no such option. This is definitely grounds for reporting them to trading standards which I intend to do right now.
Another thing: When you want to come off the site, there is no way of DELETING your account. This site is atrocious.. How do you contact support?? I can't believe they are getting away with this. It won't go on for much longer if I've got anything to do with it.
Right. I have just found the option to cancel. It IS on the Manage my Pass page at the very bottom of the page in tiny light grey font.
This is completely ridiculous of course. The whole thing is designed so that you can't find it. Once you click on this, you will need to remember your login ID and password!! Once you have supplied them with the username and password, they'll check just to make sure that you do actually want to cancel the Auto-Renewel, and then you'll be told that to confirm that you are who you say you are, they need to send you an email. To actually cancel the Auto-Renewel, you need to go to your email and click on the link in the email that they send!!!!!!!
UNBELIEVABLE!
Sadly, Dating Direct has gone downhill badly since it was bought by Meetic. The old site used to be very clear; the searches were simple, and critically you could tell who was an active member and who wasn't. Now, there are numerous old profiles obscuring those people who are active members and the site is so confusing I find it massively frustrating to use. I also resent the membership options. In my opinion, you should not be able to communicate without paying, full stop. This acts as a basic check on the quality and seriousness of the people on the site.
I am relieved to find the above comments from previous subscribers to Dating Direct. My membership finished in early June 07, after a 6 month payment, intended to be only 6 months. since then, they have taken 9.99 out of my account for 3 months, with no way of me stopping it, I have tried to log onto the Dating Direct site, but to no avail, It does not even seem to exist as a site on the internet anymore. As a drastic result I have contacted my bank and asked for advice, they said they would issue me with a new card, and it was only necessary to change my visa number, however, after cancelling my card, a week later, direct dating manage to take another months money from me with no authorisation. Getting hold of my banks customers complaints dept. is another matter, they are also non contactable. What a money robbing crew. I am taking this further, this is a total disgrace. Any similar comments from other people most welcome. I am at a loss as to what to do now.
What ever you do, do NOT sign up to this website. The old dating direct website is dead and gone, this new website is now just a scam!
Once you sign up there is virtually no way of cancelling your auto renew subscription as defined in THEIR contract terms. There is no telephone number or direct email to contact. The only email method of contract can be found when logged out at the bottom of the page under a link for members of the press. After a few emails to them it now appears that all replies are auto - generated, or at the very best cut and pasted as I am getting same responses back without answering my question.
To the last poster, who mention a tiny gray link on the Manage my pass page, I have found this but all it does is take me to the autosubribe page where I am invited to upagrade to the MORE premium account version.
My warning to you is STAY AWAY and all those that have been scammed contact the trading standards authority.
Further to my original post. I wrote to Dating Direct last week. I got them to stop the auto-rebilling and they refunded me for the unwanted 6 month pass yesterday. I have now deleted my account and I'll be staying well away from them in the future.
Help! I can't cancel my subscription and no way of contacting them! This site used to be good but is now just a scam.
I having complained to the trading standards office and urge all else who feel aggreived to do the same. The more people that complain the quicker this company will be made to sort out their act.
You can contact trading standards office at
http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/. It only takes a few moments.

Well, I didn't think this site could annoy me enough to supplement my earlier comments of two weeks ago, but they have surpassed themselves this morning!!! Emails I was sending were showing as having been successfully sent afterwards, but were no longer registering in my emails sent list. (Typing this 'comment' is a novelty; letters appearing on the screen at the same time as keystrokes!!!) I sent DD a complaint, then the next thing I knew was all my emails sent had disappeared (approx 50) and also those received (apprx 30). Like earlier 'commentators' today I will be emailing Trading Standards, and urge all others to do so.
My emails too have dissapeared. I only have a few in sent and recieved. When I send new emails although it says successfully sent they do not appear in my sent folder so I don't think they have actually gone.
I was quite impressed when I first saw the new format.... not any longer

can I have acontact number for dating direct. I want to cancel my membership and they still are taking money from my account every month.
I too am a fully paid member on the "new" DatingDirect site. For the last 3 days consecutively I am not even able to get the website up. Every time I try ( and through various ways and various links, including direct from THEIR emails to me) I just get " Sorry, server cannot find address" - i.e the pafe will not even display. I know for a fact that there is nothing wrong with any of my browser settings etc - because if there was, I wouldn't be able to successfully visit anything ! .. I have emails being sent to my private email address telling me there emails on the site sent from people ( who I genuinely want to correspond with) yet I can't even get the website to come up ... I have hours and hours thinking there is something wrong with my PC, and I now know there isn't ....
HAS THIS HAPPENED TO ANYONE ONE ELSE ?? .. I would be very grateful to know.
I too am going to trading standards regarding the matter on NO contact available to "the powers that be on D.D" and if I can't even get the website up - how on earth am I supposed to log in to put things right ??
THIS IS A COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY UNACCEPTABLE "SERVICE" .. Service ? Yeah right !!
Yes, I too Lisa am having the same problem for the lst 3 days. Can't gain access to the website at all. I shall sending a very strong letter to their addrss as previous advised (DatingDirect.com LtdQuayside TowerBroad StreetBirminghamB1 2HFGB) asking for a refund of my money as I only signed up last week and not to take any mor money. I'm also going to change my card at the bank as well. What an absolute disgrace!
Further to my above comment ( and sorry for the typo's!) .. PLEASE can anyone tell me why I cannot get the datingdirect website to even display on my pc...
No matter which link I go through, my browser keeps saying "Sorry page cannot be displayed" .. I was only on dating direct a few days ago, and the last 3 days Im getting this message, so am totally unable to even get the website to display.. and I have not changed any settings or anything on my pc ...
PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP ME ? Thanks, Lisa :-(
Hi Jayne,
We have been typing at the same time ! - I have just seen your comment, Thankyou very much for sharing that with me. I thought it was just me ( or something gone wrong on my pc) but now I know someone else is having the same difficulty, at least I know I'm not going mad .. ( well apart from with "DD" that is !! ) Cheers !

Regarding Lisa and Jayne's experiences, I have also sometimes experienced this not being able to access the DD site (directly) using the usual 'datingdirect.com' address in the URL box. I then found that I could gain access(indirectly) by googling 'Dating Direct', and then continuing as normal. Once again, unacceptable performance level for a site claiming millions of users, but a solution to a problem. See also my comments of 3weeks ago regarding composing longer (or sometimes any!) messages outside DD first (eg within MS Word, usual email site), then just copy and paste them into DD email area. Seems to fool it!
Kindly remove me at once from your emailing address book! Thank you.
(Datingdirect.com/betaversion
I've also had the same logging on frustrations that many of you are experiencing. I've managed to log on through www.meetic.co.uk and everything seems to be working now.
Good luck!
I'm currently trying to contact datingdirect's customer support service however havig such difficulty in finding a number anywhere on the site or connected to the site...please can someone tell where to find the contact numbers for the uk? ali
I am writing to you via this page as i need some answers to why other members are not getting my messages (they are not getting opened) dispite them still sending me winks and constantly look at my profile
I have spent 4 weeks trying to stop Dating Direct from renewing my membership. From the dozens of times I have tried, not once have I received a validation email for me to stop it.
And of course no contact details on site. Even the recorded delivery letter to the address given by Jonathen was ignored. The bank are now involved to stop it.
So the question begs.......are Meetic incompetent or crooks?
try bombarding this email
investisseurs@meetic-corp.com
well I finaly got through to them.
the customer service email is
customer-care@datingdirect.com
spam away !!
Lee (5days ago), I tried to contact DD using
customer-care@datingdirect.com
but received an auto-response email advising that the address is not for communication, and the email will not be read. It finished by saying to use the direct contact facilities within the help page. (These are hidden - go into certain questions, and at the end of some of them it says 'click here to contact us if this did not answer your question'). I have ultimately resorted to snailmail:
BCM Dating Direct, London, W1CN 3XX
Wonder if there is actuallly an office somewhere with someone actually in it? Someone, somewhere, is making a lot of money with the minimum of investment!
I joined Dating Direct in late June this year. I feel I was 'lured' into paying a subscription. I had set up my profile without picture and without subscribing and very quickly and (I thought, rather surprisingly) received several repeated winks from other profiles. I could not communicate with these without subscribing, and there were a couple I was pretty interested in. So.. I subscribed for 6 mths. Immediately I subscribed all the 'profiles' that had supposedly winked at me disappeared. I really feel they were spoof profiles, particularly since some of their details changed in the two or three weeks before I subscribed to appear more compatible - one even changing their area to the area I live in! I wonder if these disappearing profiles were former members and that is why some former members find their details coming up again Additionally, although I subscribed earlier this year, one wink on my site was made in 2005!! I have e-mailed several times and always got the bog standard response, which does not answer the question. A scam if ever there was one. I only hope I can successfully not renew my membership in January. I will be writing to Trading Standards as well.
Recommend Dating Direct? You must be kidding! I joined, bu t I can't read anyone's profile on the website due to some serious technical and design defects, the most serious of which is that an advert obscures all of the text and photos. I can't get in touch with them to complain or unsubscrive because they don't provide any contact details. There is something that looks like a link to 'online help', but there is no link. Avoid like the plague!
Hello Corporate Mktg. Team,
First read my URL; http://letsmeetshow.blogspot.com/. Once the Let’s Meet TV Show is ready to be aired on TV it will shown on mobile content first one week before it gets aired on TV. The brand, First Choice is for any client who wants to have the first choice, pick of the litter or cream of the crop. Men can view 750 women per hour and women can view 750 men per hour or your client can request to see both men and women together just as it would be shown on TV. Your company can now make profit on the phone content plus make mega millions from The Let’s Meet TV Show.
I am looking for a company that realizes that showcasing people in the public domain is best way to get noticed and maybe even get seen by a LA casting director or a modeling agency. The police or FBI might even be watching TV too. Let’s Meet TV Show is going to make a great deal of money and do a good deed for humanity too! There are over two thousand dating sites on the Internet and not one is on TV where most people are every day and evening. Why is Match.Com, Chemistry and e-Harmony.Com spending over 430 million on TV media advertising? Let’s Meet TV Show will go worldwide where ever there is electricity; there are mobile phones and televisions. We all have that bio-logical need to find relationships and to communicate that’s why Let’s Meet TV Show will excel.
Please go to Google search engine and put in Saul M. Detofsky or Let's Meet TV Show and submit and read all about lets Meet TV Show or go to top address bar and put in my URL. If you have Windows application it isn’t necessary to type in http:// or forward / http://letsmeetshow.blogspot.com/ and hit enter. Call me (321) 751-6963 24/7.
Thank you,
Saul M. Detofsky

Cannot access sight, no response when wishing to cancel membership.
Utterly frustrated can't get anywhere trying to cancel, I have looked through the comments above but customer service e-mail is just bouncing back saying they will not read the e-mails! I have had 2 payments taken off my card for the same thing can't contact anyone to arrange a refund, I want to remove my profile altogether but when I try to do this it says my username and or password is incorrect how can it be I logged on with it!!! Please help me get in touch.
I WOULD LIKE TO THANK YOUR PAGES TO GET ME OUT OF DATING DIRECT.I THOUGHT I'D DONE IT IN AUGUST 07 BUT FOUND IN MY CARD STATEMENT IN OCTOBER THEY HAD DEDUCTED ME 3MTHS SUBSCRIPTIONS AND TRYING AS HARD AS I COULD I COULD NOT CONTACT THEM EVEN THROUGH THEIR ABBUSE SECTION THE I TRIED THE NET FOUND YOU AND BRAVO I'M OUT THANK GOD FROM THIS CRAP PETE SHAW
Liam - I posted a couple of months ago, but here's how to get out of the site:
Go into "My Account". Click on "My Personal Info" Scroll right the way down and you'll find, in tiny letters, "To delete my account click here!".
I registered on this site initially for 6 months, but then had computer problems which meant I had to change my email address. Even though my original email address no longer exists DD continue to take £9.99 from me every month (even though I have never agreed to my membership being extended).
Now even though they cann't contact me they have conveniently assumed that I wish to continue paying for membership of something that provides me nothing & I cann't contact them to tell them otherwise. In short, THIS SITE IS NOTHING MORE THAN A SCAM & I cann't can see how it can continue for much longer when they treat their customers this way. (I would have probably continued with membership if I could have changed to my new email address, but not now.)
thanks for julie.
I didn't know how to cancle membership of that stupid site.but I read your passage and it works very well. thanks. I'll NEVER JOIN SUCH A RUBBISH SITE AGAIN.
i was able to browse the site but since i joined yesterday and paid 24.99 i have been unable to gain access...i think the site needs closing down....someone needs to get them closed
Hi, i was only on this crappy site dating direct for 2 days and i tried to find out how to remove my profile. and guess what, it's impossible.
if anyone else is having the same problem, I recommend you
1. just change the pic to someone who is not you who is really attractive.
2. then go into your advert itself and basically delete all the text you wrote
3. replace the text you wrote by slagging off the site, maybe including a lot of the messages in this thread about how bad it is.
Something tells me this might lead to the deletion of your profile...finally :-)
This company is a scam.
You wanna know what else is a scam??? Ur fat ass face! That doctor really messed it up,,,huh??? Now you gotta wake up in the morning and wonder why the cat peed on your face! Cuz he thought it was the litter box! Fix that shit dude. Cuz your startin 2 smell like pee and a half. OH!!!!!
P.S. Your shoe is untied.........dumbass
I joined DatingDirect.com on 17 November 2007 for one month. I decided to cancel beginning of December but I was distraught because I was not able to do so, despite sending emails - they were returned. To my horror, today, I have been informed that I have been signed up for another six months! I must have inadvertently clicked on Validate for Premier membership. I was going to cancel my debit card today, but I have sent an email to Trading Standards to see if they can help me cancel my subscription and pay this back into my account. DO NOT JOIN THIS SITE IT IS AN ABSOLUTE SCAM.
And so is your face and fake titties.
Sorry about the last two posts. I'm just a lonely tetchy DD employee who can't even spell and really should have been put down at birth.
salut tout le monde
salut tout le monde
salut tout le monde
thanks.
thanks.
thanks.
My friend has has over £20 taken from her bank in the name of Meetic. She has been on various dating sites - including Dating Direct but has no account runing.
But getting in touch with Meetic is something else . . .
I want to cancel my subscription as I only signed up for 1 month and have now met someone. Please cancel or I will be taking legal action.
Hi I have had the same sorry experience as all the other people. What is the best course of action. Does anyone have a phone number. If you send an email you just get standard reply or they say that the amount has been credited to your account and it has not. I have blocked my credit card so they cannot take any more money. They take the money, but you cannot access the site. I have emailed and asked them to close my account and this they have done, but still take money from my account. What can we do to sort this out.

im having thr same problems with dating direct. i cancelled in november but never got the email to confirm...why do i have to do this anyway is beyond me. then realised they are still charging me. tried to cancel again....no luck. tried calling them....no number....tried emailing them....they reply with standard emails.....its a con and grand theft. ive written to trading standards, called my credit card company to reclaim the illegal charges and if they take another penny i will call the police. might be worth writing to tv programme watchdog too and go to their premises personally with a couple of big mates. they are crooks!
If only I'd seen this before signing up. *sigh*
First off, im bitterly disappointed by the customer service, or rather the lack thereof. It seems impossible to contact anyone regarding site queries, and one sign up means email spammage of the highest order telling you that you should upgrade your account, despite unchecking the promotional offers box on the email preferences.
It's hard to find positives about the site, and I firmly believe it may be one of the biggest internet scams of the modern day. Though, judging from other posters, it could be harder to unsubscribe than I had hoped.
It is now a scam - If you are reading this before signing up DON'T join it. You will have access problems and will repeatedly get money taken from a repeat agreement that you are unable to cancel, you might as well write them a blank cheque!!!
I can no longer access the site AT ALL or my account even tho I still have 2 months that I have paid for. there is NO.... as many people above have said...CUSTOMER SERVICE, I can't even find a physical address to notify of my technical problems/complaints, first there was one in Westminster and then another in Camden???? I have sent complaints to Trading Standards in Westminster and they tell me the business is in Camden but would not give their actual address, just to notify trading standards there. Now above I have read of another address =-/...that makes 3!
I don't understand how they can legally run a business in this manner without someone putting a stop to it, I have tried to do my part and yet in all the years I've been online, I have never seen such blatent disregard for business ethics in the western world.....shame on them and shame on the powers that be who haven't done anything about all the complaints that they have obviously recieved.
From what I can see...it is simply an automated cash cow, sucking every penny out of everyone who had the bad judgement to enter it's portal... I have a sneaking suspition that it will simply 'vanish' one day when it starts getting too hot for them and a lot of people will be out of pocket!
And now they're using their ill-gotten gains to fund an extensive TV advertising campaign.
I signed via paypal and voom it charged the full 59 quid I only wanted a month I called paypal and they said I should contact the vendor Dating direct but low and bloody behold there is no customer service phone number Huh? I thought this was illegal it did not give me the option for the short subscription but its too late once you hit go i confirm .. strangely it did not give a choice on the confirm page. I have since cancelled BUt it has only apparently cancelled auto subscription I feel helpless and betrayed. I am abisness man who is used to dealing with shysters on a daily basis but these guys are good .. very good wish Ide have thought of it. and going by some of the desperate housewife types on the site they are earning a great deal out of desperate ol chicks I bet the nice looking nes are plants any ways.............

membership was supposed to be free for people from my area for a month this is not so.why
i havnt been able to access the site properly for the last 3 days, when i did finally manage to log in and stay logged in long enough to email "customer services" the reply i recieved blamed ntl ? i didnt think ntl existed anymore ? and im certainly not with them (nor virgin) if they do.
I have been having massive probs with the site over the past 15/20 days navigated round it and sending ad opening e-mails. I have looked for somewhere to contact customer services but can not find any section to do this... I like the site and have enjoyed using it but out of nowhere it has just gone belly up on me and I just want to get it sorted can anyone tell me where the e-mail address is for customer support?? Thanks
For anybody wishing to contact DD, if you click on MY ACCOUNT, then on MY SUBSCRIPTION and then next to Manage My Subscription click on 'click here to upgrade or cancel'. You will see a contact telephone number on the next page displayed - 0800 358 0846 Mon to Sat 9am to 5pm
I hope it works!
Thanks for this number - have just rang and they've agreed to refund the £45 they took out despite cancelling the auto renewal. no fuss at all - was really surprised!!
I am being charged for a service I am not receiving. Please cancel my membership forthwith. You ar deducting £19.95p per month without my permission.

I think dating direct is not good any more. Can`t get on the sites half the time.
Would anyone like to be part of a website and regular social event that sells itself properly and does more than just create wealth for the business, i.e. gets people together. I am sure the success stories of DatingDirect would be much higher if it took a leaf out of Friends Reunited's book and dropped the subscription fee barrier so people can communicate with each other. Look at how successful Facebook is. I'm organising a new regular social and dating event on 7 February where people can really connect (like in a house party) and I need a web designer to make this happen. Anyone interested? Visit my Hub. This is also an opportunity for live performers.
I joined D/D in Feb this year (2009). Within just 2 weeks I found a great girl and cancelled my membership after just one month. To my horror she had been told by her friend that I was still active on the site in May 2009, and stated that I had been online under my profile name and "active this week". Yet I had not logged in since meeting her and had not paid them anything since Feb '09. I emailed them 3 times, but all mails ignored. Be warned!!
pay by cheque, tiny link on page but worth it to beat the system ha ha
