For Xbox owners, game enthusiasts, and professionals alike, finding a replacement hard drive for your Xbox 360 can be a necessity, especially when you’re looking to improve speed, graphics, and overall performance.  Of course, many will find themselves think about purchasing an Xbox 360 20gb hard drive, all the while hoping to improve their system’s performance.

Purchasing a new hard drive, however, comes with a host of pros and cons.  Read on to learn about these and the benefits of owning an Xbox 360 20gb hard drive.   First, it’s important to remember that selecting a hard drive requires you to think about a few things.

The original Xbox, which was released before the Xbox 360, came equipped with a hard drive.  This presented a number of problems.  This hard drive was not removable.  If your system died, you had no way of accessing the information on the drive.  This is where the idea of a removable hard drive came in.  Gamers wanted to be able to save information, games, and even music.

When the Xbox 360 came along, removable hard drives hit the market, and the Xbox 360 20gb hard drive became an attractive option.  This drive comes with a number of benefits, including the ability to save music and play old Xbox games that may not work with the Xbox 360 system.  Another benefit of owning this drive is that it allows you to connect to the internet and download simulators.

The drive also comes preloaded with videos and an Xbox Live Arcade game.  It gives you the option to save games, play a game demos and demo soundtracks from you own personal collection of music.  Equipped with its own collection of music, the Xbox 360 20gb hard drive offers you enhanced graphics and even comes with a triple-core CPU, which makes for a great game experience.

The pros of owning a 20gb hard drive are plentiful.  As a general rule, this type of hard drive can be installed easily.  The graphics are in high definition, and you can get more levels for racing games titles such as Ghost Recon.

The original Xbox, according to game experts, came with an eight to 10gb hard drive, which allowed you to use cache.

One drawback to purchasing a 20gb hard drive for your Xbox 360 is that it is rather pricey, averaging at about $100.00 per unit.  However, purchasing a memory card costs roughly $60.00.  The 20 gig hard drive offers a lot more, including more hard drive space.  The 20gb hard drive may not have enough space to store large numbers of videos.  This is because high definition media takes a while to download, and it could load slowly.

Another thing to think about is that the space on a 20gb hard drive is rather limited, so you may have to purchase a larger hard drive to store more and larger files, such as videos.

When it comes to enhancing your Xbox 360, buying a new hard drive is a great option.  However, you have a lot to think about before you purchase one.  The benefits of owning an Xbox 360 20gb hard drive are numerous, but you need to weigh your options.  If you purchase the 20gb hard drive, remember that you may not have as much hard drive space as promised.  But you can get this with more advanced hard drives.
