Xpress Redi-Set-Go Reviews
71I'm a busy person and I don't have lots of time to waste cooking. Fast food is unhealthy and gets expensive. That's why I was so excited to find out about the Xpress Redi-Set-Go.

Cooking with the Xpress Redi-Set-Go
Cooking Healthy with the Xpress Redi-Set-Go
Have you been feeling guilty; thinking that you should really be preparing
healthier meals for your family, or even just for yourself? Did you believe
that you really didn’t have the time to devote to cooking more health
conscious foods? Do you agonize over whether you should spend lots of time
creating healthy meals, instead of spending quality time with your family, or
vice versa? With today’s busy lifestyles, it’s so hard to balance
quality cooking with the time we have available to spend in the kitchen. The
solution to that problem is the Xpress Redi-Set-Go grill. Now, you don’t
have to choose; you can have the tasty, healthful meals without spending very
much time in their preparation. With this amazing grill you can now cook
healthy foods in just a fraction of the time normally required to prepare that
type of meal. Your family will be so pleased with the delicious meals you are
able to serve in such a short time, and you will be excited about the ease of
using the grill and the simple clean up after your meal.
Cooking is so much faster with the
Redi-Set-Go because of the dual cooking technology, which heats food from both
the top and bottom, effectively cooking the food in half the time that it would
take if it heated from just one side. Because of the non-stick surface, you
won’t need to use oil or margarine to prevent sticking, which means fewer
calories and healthier meals. Cleanup is so easy with the Xpress Redi-Set-Go
because the insertable, removable pans are dishwasher safe. Not only is it
faster to prepare your meals, but with easier clean up too, you will have more
time to spend with your family, or doing whatever you enjoy more than washing
dishes!
Cook anywhere with the Redi-Set-Go
This versatile grill can be used on your countertop, or whatever site would be
the handiest at the time. However, if you want to do your cooking in a
different location from your kitchen, you could even set your Xpress
Redi-Set-Go on a table next to an electric outlet on your patio and do your
cooking outside. Take it to your recreation room to grill from that spot if you
choose. Because of its portability, it can be moved virtually anywhere, so if
you ever wished you could cook somewhere other than the kitchen, now you can.
It is compact, about the size of a toaster, so moving it from place to place
would not be a problem. You could even take it with you when traveling since it
is so compact. You can usually find a place to plug in this handy grill, and
quickly cook a quality meal, without paying the price of eating in a
restaurant. With the cost of gas these days, saving money on eating would be
helpful, to keep the expenses down on a vacation trip.
Since the Redi-Set-Go is smaller than a toaster, it is easy to store in a
cupboard or other small area. It is electric, so your kitchen will be cooler
while you are cooking. Of course, the shorter cooking time also contributes to
keeping the room cooler. You will also save money on your electric bill,
because you won’t need to heat up a large oven to grill delicious meals,
and the Xpress Redi-Set-Go cooks those meals in half the time for even bigger
energy savings.

Ive posted this on other review sites for this product..
I have read all of the comments here. Although I was disappointed in the lackluster Gonzo testing I do believe this is a product well worth the 39.90+S&H cost after seeing all the RL testing you posters did. However, I am concerned at the system this company has set up for acquiring the additional insert pans and the recipes. This system, if my calculations are correct, will ultimately soak customers for almost $350 by the time they have all of the items. I mean c'mon.. how much can it cost to stamp out a handful of aluminum pans and print a cookbook? Being as the only option for getting these items is to sign up for periodic shipments, I will have to wait more than a year to receive all of the products and they are going to make a killing on recipe brochures and even a greater killing on a multitude of S&H charges. Why does this company not have a total package option that includes all of the insert pans and the complete recipe book? Maybe a binder to put the recipe brochures in with the ability to add future recipe books as they are released. ?? The infomercial plainly states that the initial order includes ALL recipes shown in the infomercial yet some people that posted here are saying they have purchased many of the recipe books and still don't have all the recipes shown in the informercial yet. How many total recipes are there in all of the recipe books combined? This may be a great product but from the posts people have made regarding hidden charges, addition of products/charges they had not wanted or intended to purchase and improper handling of multi-payments this is sounding more like a scam with the RSG item as the bait. Why would anyone spend almost $350 for a countertop cooker for 2 with 10 aluminum inserts and a cookbook that comes in pieces and you have to wait over a year to get them all?? Someone please help me out here. This company has a great product.. why must they use trickery, deception and massive S&H charges to make their money? They need to fire all the marketing guru's (use that term loosely) and just box up a full package for $99.95 (incl ALL of the recipes available), throw in $25 for shipping and start filling the Fed-Ex trucks as fast as they can arrive at the factory. I'm sure the orders would pour in even faster than they do now. And their customer service dept. wouldn't have to spend so much time fielding calls from people who are upset because they got billed for 50% more money than they intended to pay. The orders would be completed faster because customers would'nt have to sift through a dozen add-on offers on the phone. This current system is wrong in so many ways. I think they will not be getting my money even though I may want and like this product... I dislike being milked for $350 even more.
the redi set go, it is nothing short of a scam. they said $39.90 for all and guess what it was, $71.90 little different?? Sent back all of it and still they charged my account had to cancel my credit card so it will stop, and answer a e-mail wow. I'll wait until it comes to the stores.
This is a mixed review: I love the way Xpress Redi Set Go cooks and my family really likes the recipes. HOWEVER, the "non stick" surface began coming off after THREE uses (even though we followed prep, cooking and cleaning instructions to the letter)! The company should be ashamed of putting out such an inferior product. Also, their ordering system really gives the impression that this is a scam operation. I just don't get it......why play games and cut corners on quality when you have an innovation that could be such a long term hit with consumers? Instead, you get people, like me, who like the concept but are very, very disappointed/ disillusioned with the Xpress Redi Set Go and its manufacturer.
I have used the Xpress a lot and agree that the non stick surface is coming off. There are tiny chips beginning in the black surface showing a silver metal under the surface. I have only used the utinsels included with the Xpress and followed all the instructions. I don't even put the inserts in the dishwasher. This is disconcerting. Before long, I wlll have a silver surfaced sticky Xpress. I do like the recipes however.
This is scam, be careful. Shame on you!
i was going to order the express redi set go but after reading the reviews i have changed my mind i knew it was to good to be ture
I was about to buy one, even on ebay prices are higher than shown on tv... I am glad I read your comments here and didn't waste my $ and my time. Thank you for the information and sorry that these items do not pass quality control.
GLAD I CHECKED THIS SITE OUT. I WAS GOING TO ORDER, BUT NOW I AM AFRAID. MAYBE WHEN THEY COME OUT IN THE STORE. I CHECKED WITH BED-BATH-BEYOND. THEY HAVEN'T GOT THEM IN YET. I CAN WAIT. OLSO CHECKED WITH KOHLS. THEY DON'T HAVE THEM EITHER.
glad I read these comments before I purchased one, I even called but changed my mind., I'm glad I did.
Thanks for the warnings
I love this machine and the inserts that came with it However, after using this new express redi set go for a little over 5 weeks I'm noticing that the nonstick surface on the lid is blistering and peeling off, and chips on the bottom are starting to show.I only use the utensil provided, and I followed the cleaning procedure being very, very careful, so I don't know what happened.
I have the first GT express which I loved very much too, and it did the same thing. I really thought that they had fixed this problem of the peeing, so I went ahead and ordered this new one.
I do love it though, and use it everyday! I cooks the food just as it was advertised, and the timer is a dandy. NO more wondering if the food is ready! I just wish they would have made a stronger non stick surface along with the new awesome design with timer...
non stick surface is coming off, massive S&H charges ,lid blistering.....
What do you expect from China?
Along with the over priced accessories, the name should
be Xscam Redi-Set-Go.
I also was set to order the Redisetgo but decided to check reviews and prices. Like many others, I will wait until it comes out in the stores. I don't need or enjoy the runaround you get when you try to order. Especially when it comes and we find it is an inferior product.
I was going to order this, but since I don't trust infomercials much, and after rading these reviews I changed my mind.
Shame on "ALL" who are involved with cheating people out of their hard earned money.
WATCH OUT FOR THE WEBSITE THEY REALLY TRY TO TRICK YOU. THE XPRESS REDI SET GO NOT ONLY HAS A HIGH SHIPPLING AND HANDLING PRICE OF $16 WHICH MEANS IT IS NOT JUST $39.90 BUT THE SITE TRIES TO TRICK YOU. AFTER YOU ORDER YOU HAVE TO CLICK ON ALL THESE NO THANKS TO GET TO A CONFIRMATION AND WITH MY MOUSE PAD I ACCIDENTALLY ACCEPTED ONE SO MY TOTAL IS NOW $71.75. BUT WHEN I CONTACTED CUSTOMER SERVICE THEY SAID THE BEST THEY CAN DO IS DISCOUNT ME $3.95 OR I CAN RETURN IT FOR $4.00 SHIPPING AND GET $9.95 BACK (I STILL HAVE TO PAY FOR THE EXTRA SHIPPING AND HANDLING). THERE IS NO CONFIRMATION IF YOU WANT THE EXTRA'S THEY JUST ADD THEM ON WHETHER IT WAS ON ACCIDENT OR NOT. I EVEN SENT THE EMAIL TO CUSTOMER SERVICE RIGHT AFTER I COMPLETED THE SALE. THE SITE IS MADE TO TRICK YOU SO WATCH OUT!
I was eager to purchase but after reading all the comments I knew it had to be some untruths somewhere.....
This is a TOTAL MONEY MAKING SCAM. They look for ways to just keep padding the bill. You will be CHARGED 2 or 3 TIMES what the initial cost is with all the B.S add ons and RIP OFF SHIPPING. Made CHEAPLY IN CHINA, NON STICK INTERIOR PEELS OFF INTO YOU FOOD!!!! BEWARE, BEWARE, BEWARE.
You CAN "dispute" these charges with your crdit card company. DISPUTE THE CHARGES.. YOU WERE CONNED.
Sorry to read of the CHEAP way this is made...I really wanted to purchase one but I have enough junk...I will wait until it improves. All these comments were very valuable
Hey... if you want to order just one extra pan... you can. You don't have to get all the other pans or join a club. Go to http://www.redisetgo.com/drtv/ecs/perfect-pan-stor order the pan or pans you want.
I'm glad I found this website I was just about to purchace this product but after reading all this, NOT NOW OR EVER.
After only days of using my RSG grill noticed that the top of grill is blistering. Non stick surface is peeling off and the time will not click or turn. Used RSG grill as recomended. Base insert pan should have been encluded.
What a Scam . Will send it back for refund.
Should have know!!!!!!
I was just about to order... when I decided to check out the reviews. So glad I did! I noticed when I ordered the S&H costs were ridiculous for this little item.
(I work in a shipping Whse so I should know)
and now that I hear the teflon coating is coming off - I definitely won't buy this - I don't want those chemicals in my food!
Glad I checked this out first.
I'm glad I read the comments before I ordered. I will NEVER order now.
Wow, I am glad that I decided to check for reviews before purchasing this item. If it looks like a duck and quack like a duck then it's a duck!!! This appears to be a great concept, but with inferior quality/workmanship. To try and scam more money for add-ons and shipping is ridiculous and shameful. I WILL NOT BE BUYING THIS PRODUCT NOW OR IN THE FUTURE!!!
Watching the ad as we speak and I thought it would be great to have since I love my George Forman grill and work too much to cook large meals...but terrible quality and bad customer service says it all. I'll wait till it comes out in stores at least then I could return it without hassle. Thank you shoppers for your comments!!
I have to agree about this machine. It is a piece of sh**.And its easy to get suckered with high-ass shipping and xtras you didnt order. However, the express RSG actually works good, although the pan inserts are a little too flimsy and the non-stick coating will flake off eventually,no matter how gentle you are.I`ve prepared deserts and omelettes with good results though.Maybe they will redesign this pos and try again, because it is a good concept.
After reading this I am convinced not to buy. I hate spending lots of money on cheap made product. There is nothing I hate more than to have the non-stick stuff coming off and serving it to guest in their food. I'll keep my money in my pocket and cook the old fashion way. :-)
it's a scam. added on lots of extras at additional charges. charged my credit card even after i cancelled the order. customer service was rude and hung up on me. will have to cancel my credit card to avoid being charged more.
They have your credit card and will charge you for something you didnot order!! This is a scam! I disputed the charges thru the credit card. Beware!!
ive been looking forword to buying this product and im sad it read that the craftmanship is very poor!!! im a single person and thought this would be a great way to cook for one. maybe if product comes to stores i might give it a try.
After a few uses the coating is coming off. The item was received and has a hole in the top. Contacting customer service was even worse I called and they said they would send out a replacement I told her I did not want a new one I wanted a full refund and return postage. I don't feel that it is my fault that their product was inferior. After 17 min on the phone I got to the point that I would get a full refund. She refused to issue a return label, so I asked for a supervisor. After being on hold I was then disconnected. Do not order this item!!!! There was nothing good about the experience.
I even DVR'd the Infomercial when I didn't have time to watch it all the way through one day because I was so excited to learn more about this product. I don't like to cook much but have grown weary of eating out and spending all that dough. I decided to find out if the average consumer liked the Express RSG as much as I thought and found a number of websites with loads of consumers rallying the complaints of this companys billing and customer service practices. I guess I will have to wait util this product hits the stores before I proceed. Thanks to those who were all-telling about the problems they endured with their purchase.
Where are the good comments about this product? I ordered one..didn't receive it yet, but you can bet that I am nervous about not only the total price of my order which should only be 39.95 pl shipping, but being unsatisfied with what seems to be (re comments) grossly inferior!
I am so glad I read these reviews. Im a single parent w 2 small childre and thought this would be perfect..Im glad I read about it before buying. Thanks to everyone who posted their experiences about this product!
I was really looking forward to buying one of these - or maybe even 2 or 3 as Christmas gifts, but after reading the comments here, I WILL NOT PURCHASE AN EXRESS REDI-SET-GO! Too bad these comments/complaints can't be sent to someone at the company who would make the desired changes in quality and marketing that would make this product a truly outstanding purchase.
I have the old express cooker but paid very little because I bought it at deseretIndustries a second hand store. I decided to order this product, they way there web sight works is that you don't knoe the hole total until you have paid for it. By the time I order the cooker the 3 extra inserts and there was another item that was $10.00 to $15.00 dollars I total was $98.00. I called the next morning to cancled it, they told me that all but the shipping and handling would be replaced. I sent back and e-mail telling them that I had complained to and organization over things like thisand I also complained to channel 2. I just recieved an e-mail for them canceling my order I don't about the shipping and handling cost because I haven't recived my statement yet.
I just ordered the RSG,I hope I'm not as disappointed as everyone else, call me an optimist. I bought it because I am a working Mom with two boys and I thought this would be great for making quick suppers and snacks and something they can use. I didn't get conned in to ordering ANY
After reading those comments I just want to say "Wow What a scam!" I personaly wasn't going to order this pice of junk, but my mom and my aunt were like "it's worth $40, let's get it, it's easy and fast" And I was like the food looks gross, I mean the fried chicken they showed on commercials still had uncooked bread crumbs on it Eww! So, my mom was like "Order it!", so I was like fine but my gut feeling told me check-out some reviews, so I was like "what the hey!" so I did. I'm so glad I didn't order it, and I also feel sorry for the people who did, and wasted their money on this "Xscam Redi Set Go" (someone said this so I quoted it). It's like my debit card would've got cancelled like others, because my mom said she'll pay me cash, and since I don't a lot of money on my debit card it wouldn't be harmful if I give out my debit card number on online shopping. So, Once again Thank You for your reviews, and shame on those who made it
I BOUGHT THIS PRODUCT AND IT WAS TO MUCH MONEY TO SPEND ON IT BUT I DECIDED TO KEEP IT AND GIVE IT A TRY. THAT WAS A BIG MISTAKE THE NON STICK SURFACE COMES OFF ONLY AFTER A FEW TIMES COOKED IN. THE TOP BLISTERS AND THE TIMER ALSO STOPS SOMETIMES. IF YOU HAVE EVER SEEN THE COMERCIAL NOW YOU KNOW WHY SHE HAS TO HAVE SO MANY TO COOK WITH, IT'S BECAUSE AFTER ABOUT 5 TIMES BEING COOKED IN SHE HAS TO THROUGH THE THING AWAY. I HATE I EVEN WASTED MY MONEY ON THE PEICE OF JUNK. IF THEY WOULD LOWER THE PRICE AND FIND AWAY TO FIX THE PROBLEMS IT WOULD BE A GOOD PRODUCT, BUT I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED.
thank goodness!! i was thinking of buying it, but every advertisement always has some kind of hidden flaws. good think i didn't waste my money on this.
I am glad to find this website. I was about to order it online. Thanks for sharing
I too was very taken by the commercial and ordered the xpress ready set go. First I was blown away by the total but was unable to go back and cancel the order. There was just no place to confirm or cancel. $39.90 for the product, $33.80 S&H and of course $9.95 for the recipe club that I never intended to join. Then there was the money exchange since I live in Canada and to top it all, I had to pay $12.05 at the post office to claim it. That little machine turned out to be very expensive...I used it once and it worked fine. The second time I decided to cook a steak...I followed instructions to the letter. The timer quit, the food stuck to the bottom big time, the red finish bubbled and peeled and cracked...Wow! What a bargan!...But what can a person do? It says right with it that if you send it back they will keep S&H from your account so that means at least $33.80 for recieving it and another $33.80 for shipping it back to you...Talk about a rip off! I wish I had read the comments. I never would have ordered it...
When I ordered my Xpress Redi-Set-Go, they included a "recipe club" that I did not order. I noticed this once my order was complete and I was checking the charges. It was an additional $9.95 plus $5.00 shipping and handling. I immediately e-mailed and called their customer service and asked that the "recipe club" be removed from my order and my account credited for the total of $14.95. Their customer service only operated from 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM EST, so since it was a Saturday, I was not able to contact anyone by phone. I got an e-mail back from on the following Monday saying that I would have to return the recipe cards that I received in my order before they would refund the cost of the "recipe club" less the shipping and handling. Well, I did not feel that I should be charged for the shipping and handling since I had tried to cancel immediately upon order and the recipes for which I was being charged $5.00 for shipping and handling were in the same box with the cooker and didn't even weight one-half ounce. The person I spoke with (not American), after a long time on the phone, agreed to credit back the full $14.95 and cancel my "recipe club" enrollment. She said that I would see the refund in 3-5 business days on my account. Well, it's now been 10 days and I have not received the refund. I did finally receive the cooker and the "recipe club" items which amounted to 3 little pamphlets stuffed inside the box that the cooker was shipped in. Hardly worth $1.00, let alone $9.95 plus shipping and handling of $5.00 additional. At this point I still have not received the refund and I called Customer Service again. I had to go through about 3 people before I got someone to agree to credit my account. They would never acknowledge that I had tried to cancel the order before nor would they give me a confirmation number for the credit they are to issue. And, they told me that it will be another 3 - 5 business days before my account is credited for the $14.95. No one would let me speak with a supervisor and I had a very hard time understanding the customer service people's English. Needless to say, you should be very, very careful if you purchase anything from this company.
Glad I read the reviews. I wouldn't touch this with a ten foot pole. What a rip off
Thanks for the warnings! I was going to order one but certainly won't now! Evidently companies like this don't realize that people share information on the internet and when their scams are disclosed they lose business. They'd probably make more money by being up-front and honest and quit trying to trick people out of their money. Shame on you, Cathy Mitchell, for allowing these types of shady business practices to be associated with your name and product!!
If anyone has received the entire recipe collection, scan and post it on a forum/torrent/rapidshare.
I lodged a complaint to the bbb over a year ago when I ordered the original gt express.. I can see that they haven't changed their crooked ways. I returned their gt after it started peeling and the fact they charged my card for 3 months straight for recipes ON TOP OF the original charge for the unit. I should have scanned the recipes and posted it everywhere for free... its the only way to screw back this slimey company.
Stay away from these people - STAY FAR AWAY!! I ordered two (spoke to a machine, not a person) Four days later I received an email but it did not include the total. Another 4 days and after additional inquiry I was finally given my bill - $33.90 SHIPPING! This blew me away! Three more weeks and no delivery I made another phone inquiry. You better have alot of patience and determination, it took close to an hour on hold. I discovered they sent order to Maine. I live in Delaware! I made this mistake of reordering. Two days later I received an email saying they canceled my original but would not credit my credit card until I return the order and then the $33.90 will be deducted before the refund. How can I return the order when I never received it? Again I spent another hour on hold TO NO AVAIL! I finally gave up. Now I must contact my credit card company which some of you probably know can be a long process. End result: I have been charged twice for the same item and I still have not received anything!!! Hard to believe but totally true. I always felt the Cathy Mitchell came across a little to slick. Everybodys grandmother? I think not.
WARNING TO ALL!!!!!!!!!!!! There is another site out there that gives almost exclusive fantastic reviews of this product. When you try to lease a review the site will not permit it. Most of the reviews are much too professionally written to be real. Obviously this company doesn't miss a trick so BEWARE!!
I watched the infomercial several times and really wanted to get this product. But I always check thing out so I read countless reviews on this site and other sites.
Bottom line, everyone LOVES the concept and how it cooks; and everyone HATES the company scams and the poor quality ranging from flaking Teflon, peeling paint, and the timer not shutting off.
I was really glad to hear about the timer problem. I'm a senior lady who is getting to that "forgetful" stage in life and try to only buy products with a timer or automatic shut off.
Conclusion: Putting up with inferior quality AND company scams BOTH makes me say no. IF the Redi Set Go comes to Bed and Bath where I can buy it direct, using a 20% off coupon. with no shiping charges, I might try it. But only then.
Thanks to all who posted.
I am wanting a redi set go, couldn't find it in walmart so I came online to see if any other stores have it. I can't find anything about any store having it, but I found seveal review sites and started reading. After reading several reviews, I have found several negative comments about it. THANK YOU for the warnings about the company. I will get mine thru ebay or not at all. I am so sorry to hear about the customer service problems, did you know that it's illegal for the company to deny you the right to speak with a supervisor? Also, you can let them know that you are tape recording your conversation, (and actually do it!) so you have proof you DID speak to a rep. Most importantly, has anyone reported them to the Better Business Bureau? The concept for this item IS wonderful, so let's band together to encourage them to address the very negative issues with this product. Report them to the BBB! I would like to know, does the peeling teflon and the blistering finish on the outside affect the performance? (I don't like teflon anyway and would rather take steel wool to it to get it off before the first use.) Thank you all for the warnings.
I was stupid enough to not only purchase one,but two Redi-Set-Go units. I was hoping to give the second one as a gift. After only ONE use, the finish started to blister and peel.... I called the company and they are going to send me another...I asked them what I should do with the one I have and was told to just throw it away.. as soon as the replacement arrives, both are going to be returned to them... What a piece of junk! Nice concept if it was a made better. Wish me luck trying to cancel the recipes... I guess that's the next bridge to cross.... Never again!
Thanks to all who posted here. Am in the habit of checking reviews after seeing ads; no doubt these reviews have saved a lot of people a lot of hassle. Hope everybody gets full refunds and that the "what goes around comes around" principle bites this company sooner than later. Surely we will all see more product ads as the holidays approach, so good thing there are review sites like this. Here's to a scam-free holiday season. Thanks again.
I never buy from TV..once they get your credit card numbers they can charge whatever they want. I bought it from ebay, and I have used it for the last few hours, even my 15 year old loves it. So far so good!!
Too bad the unit's coating is so crappy. I purchased the product three months. The coasting on the underside of the top element has bubbled and the non-stick surface on the bottom has started to flake off. Someone needs to come out with a unit that works in the same fashion but with higher quality finishes. Emeril or Wolfgang, are you reading this? What makes the unit unique from other grills is that the top and bottom elements are deeper, alowing you to use it for making omlettes and personal pizzas, in addition to pressed sandwiches. The interchangeble pans are also very useflul. The one interchangeable pan that would be particularly useful to have is the round, non-divided one, which would make the unit easier to clean, but you have to pay almost $20 extra, including shippping, for it. I also disapprove of the company's up-sell approach. I would happily pay more money upfront for a similar unit of higher quality that had all the necessary components included.
I too was taken. Wish I had read the reviews before I ordered. They keep sending pans and shipping charges. Sending back....
They also sent recipe book I did not order. The shipping charges are unbelievable. Think twice before you order.
Whew ! i was just about to order one today...I'm so glad I followed up on a negative comment seen on another site. It sure looked like a great product though..
Shame on you Kathy Mitchell & Associates !
Maybe it will never come out in stores because of how crappy it is.... The stores will have to deal with all the returns and unsatisfied customers... Thanks for the warning!! Hopefully someone else will come out with a better quality appliance
I would gladly pay twice the price for a product that promises what they promise, this product does not. I do believe it works, and wanted to order one. But I only want to eat my egg, not flakes of Teflon. If they offered it in Silver stone, ?
Yeah this thing sounds like bare Fuckery!
THEY REALLY TRY TO TRICK YOU. THE XPRESS REDI SET GO NOT ONLY HAS A HIGH SHIPPLING AND HANDLING PRICE THE XPRESS REDI SET GO NOT ONLY but it is junk. the top of grill is blistering.contact your Better Business Bureau. if you bought one.
VERY DISSAPOINTED!!!!! THE BOTTOM FIXED PANS COATING HAS COME OFF. I CONTACTED THEM BUT HAVE HAD NO RESPONSE. DON'T BUY IT.
FOLLOW-UP TO PREVIOUS MESSAGE....I CONTACTED CUSTOMER SERVICE VIA PHONE THIS TIME. THEY HAVE AGREED TO REPLACE MY UNIT WITH ONE THAT HAS A THICKER TEFLON TYPE COATING AT NO CHARGE INCLUDING SHIPPING. DON'T TRY COMMUNICATING VIA E-MAIL IT DIDN'T WORK FOR ME BUT A PHONE CALL WORKED. IF THEY DON'T FOLLOW THROUGH WITH THEIR PROMISE, I WILL BE BACK AND LET YOU KNOW. IT MIGHT TAKE UP TO 2 WEEKING FOR REPLACEMENT.
They have this in Kohls for 31 bucks. It's the GT express so it doesnt have the inserts. Its comes with the spatula, cook book and an mixing container. Most of the recipes call for instant ingredients so I guess that makes it easier to cook, but not sure how well it will taste. When I start cooking more things I will write an update.
WOW! I'm really glad I decided to read these reviews. Like many I thought it looked great on TV but if you can't count on a product to last more than three uses, what good is it. Maybe that's why on the infomercial she is using multiple units because they are only good for one use. I hope this company takes a monatary "hit". They ought to be ashamed!
We bought one of these after watching the infomercial on TV. After that I came here and read the reviews. I was disapointed before it even came in feeling that I'd been had! The first time I used it, onion stuck to a small spot on the top and messed up the coating so I though maybe they were right.
We have been using it now for about three months, very often and we just love it. It makes a quick meal out of anything you throw in it. The coating has not gotten any worse since that fist time.
The recipes that came with ours seemed to have all of the things we had seen on the infomercial.
Our favorite things to eat from it are the Omelets, and the Pizza's. The dough recipe works real well.
I feel like it was worth the money!
I too was ready to order for my elderly parents. Too bad it's such an inferior product - Thanks so much for posting these comments.
I had a feeling this is a sham and I'm glad I didn't fall for it. The idea is great and for the life of me I can't understand why someone hasn't improved the cooker by now. I try to avoid most things imported from China for that very reason. Farberware (which used to be great) is now made in China and it has gone down the tube. So much for cheap labor! Buy American if possible.
DONT BUY IT,THATS ALL I CAN SAY SCAM SCAM SCAM SHAME ON U PEOPLE WHO RIP PEOPLE OFF LIKE THIS.
I have to agree with these reviews. I ordered online and was very careful NOT to order the add ons they try to scam you into. After careful review of my order, and when I was sure I only ordered the unit, I received the unit with the extra pans and was billed $90 + (not the price on my order statement). The extra charges were pans and cookbook I did not order. I settled for the extras (should not have), even though I know I didn't order them, figured I could use them. NOW 3 months later, my credit card is charged by this company for MORE PANS. I didn't even order the pans in the first place. Called the company and was told I'd have to wait to receive the pans, mark the package refused, return it and I'll be refunded when they receive the package, a process that could take up to 8 weeks. DON'T ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY. Wait until this product hits stores, and it will. Not worth your financial stress. Believe me.
This is sad to hear after the great success they had with the original GT Xpress which works amazing. I guess I will stay with that one till they fix the issues with this new one. Explains why I still see infomercials for GT Xpress and haven't seen this one in a long time. If you want this product get the original one. Now you get 2 for the price of one.
Thanks for the warning. I might order it through Ebay to be safe and i will use parchment paper to see that might work.
I also wanted this product.....but after i read the reviews, no way! I purchased an omlet maker with two wells at Walgreens.....it works the same as the GT Express and have used recipes as shown on TV.....it was $7.99 on sale and $9.99 when not. Have used it for 4 months no and peeling on my little unit! I have been looking around for a product like the Redi-Set-Go...but have not found one yet. If anyone finds it....please share!
THANKS EVERYONE!!!! I am glad you posted your comments because I was about ready to buy this product. I am sorry you had problems with this product but thanks for letting everyone know not to buy.
Hi Everyone - I am a 42 year old single man & relied heavily on reading tons of reviews for the Xpress Redi-Set-Go (RSG) before purchasing it so I thought it only fair to let you know of my experience so far.
I'm not sure what all the problems with the ordering are. From reading about all the horror stories I would order online, at least that's what I did. You need to know going in it will be $15-17 shipping & handling. I know this is high, but seeing you can't buy the RSG in stores yet, I sucked it up & paid the S&H. Your RSG is delivered by UPS to you in less than a week. If it were mailed regular mail it would be alot cheaper but they don't offer that option plus it would be the old mail order standby 4 -6 weeks. After you place the original order for the RSG it will ask you if you would like 3 more items before signing out. If all you want is the cooker & everything that comes with the commercial, simply scroll down and hit the "no thanks" button. You will do this 3 times. After that you are immediately sent an email saying your order was accepted & you will get another email days later with tracking info. I was charged $56.85 and that's it, check out was painless. I ordered on Oct 28th & got cooker on Nov. 4th.
When I got it out of box it did seem smaller than on TV but it's not. The first thing I made was a Hot Pastrami Wrap. It was easy to make but I noticed it took a little longer to cook than instructions said. Trial & error taught me to put all insert pans with the handle at the 7 o'clock position. There are 2 notches at top & bottom of cooker & if pan handle is not at 7 o'clock your lid will not close all the way hence the food taking longer to cook. (you'll see :) You'll also find out quickly that you will put in more or less of ingredients recommended to your own liking. (A little tip on the totilla dishes: put the tortillas in the microwave for 10-15 seconds & this will make them more pliable and easier to mold in cooking pan wells.) The Pastrami wrap was outstanding but be careful! Food comes out of the RSG extremely hot so you will need to give it a little extra cooldown period. I've made wraps, omlettes, Juevos Rancheros, and chocolate cakes. As a bachelor who hates to cook - this is a God send. I hate the feeling of having to go somewhere to feed my self. Also if your single watch the portions you cook as most are for 2 people, but no worries, just prepare half the recipe, easy. When my cooker arrived it had a small little chip near inner lid area which concerned me at first but since it is not in the cooking area I think it's fine. I treated it with cooking oil as the instructions explain & have had no chipping or flaking issues either inside or outside cooker. The teflon coating makes it really easy to clean up but If you use the insert pans alot, you can throw those bad boys in the dishwasher however I have been using my RSG so much they haven't seen the dishwasher yet! The inserts are easy to clean as well. A regular sponge will do. Another thing I'm diging about the RSG is for once on my life I have a shopping list. I usually walk through the supermarket aimlessly with no plan or list. I'll grab some fishsticks here, a tv dinner there and come home with alot of crap. Now I actually have a list that is crammed with ingredients and it's makes my shopping feel purposeful now. Most recipes have no more than 4-5 ingredients which also I like. It's already saved me money. I went and grabbed $25 worth of ingredients and have been cooking off that for almost a week now. I was hesitant about spending $57 on this product (Especially after reading reviews on this website!) but one ladys comments above is what kinda pushed me to decide to get it. In her comments she said that it had blistered a tiny bit on hood outside where & doesn't have any contact with food but that she uses it practically everyday & her whole family enjoys it.....so I just decided to take a chance. So far it does exactly what the infomercial says it does. Bottom line I would recommend it and think it would also make a decent gift. I hope this review has helped & HAPPY COOKING....
@Christine
An optimist? I hope your children enjoy the taste burnt off nonstick chemicals in their food. Sounds tasty.

Thanks D-Rock for a fair assessment of this product.
Thanks for the comments. I was about to buy one, but to have non stick surface flake off after a couple of uses scares the hell out of me. I do not need a $40 piece of crap sitting in a cabinet. Thanks for the reviews. Buyer beware.
Cooking a steak sent so much smoke into my kitchen, I am going to have that nasty stale food smell in my clothes and possessions for a while. The unit gets way too hot and I have blistering on the outside and the teflon surface is coming off. After everything in the news about products made in China, I feel like I have just poisoned my 16 year old. I guess I will not be getting mother of the year award.
I was on vacation, and happened to see the infomercial, and was really excited to see this product. It was a good think I held back on my enthusiasm and decided to wait till I got back home, and order it. I accidentally saw this website, so am glad that I did not get conned into buying it. I was a little surprised to see the 16$ charge for S&H, and was wondering about that while I came across these reviews, so did not proceed with this order. Is running such scams a quintessential American pastime ???
It's marketing that takes advantage of those who are not net-savvy and/or don't pay attention to what they're doing when ordering online. They aren't the first company I've dealt with who uses these tactics, and I know they won't be the last. After reading a LOT of comments on a lot of websites, I just ordered one of these. The only thing I did differently is I didn't order an extra couple of pans because I want to see if I have the coating peeling problems or not. If I don't, then I don't mind paying extra money to buy a single pan or two later. I simply clicked "NO" or "No Thanks" on all of the LARGE buttons offering two choices on each page, and verified that both my web page receipt and my email receipt stated the same total.
Mixed reviews...yes, ordering one is like joining a club and drove my initial purchase price to $82.00, which included extra inserts but no recipe book "club". Very few recipes included. Quality of item is so-so; lots of outside blemishes, blemishes on non-stick surface inside, and timer knob melted within two weeks and fell off; it didn't always work anyhow. Inserts are flimsy and handles bend while drying by hand. In spite of the overall poor quality - and now what I consider to be a pricey purchase - we have had fun adapting recipes and I am now off to experiment with pumpkin puffs. I honestly don't think this machine will hold up long. Also just noticed their logo is already wearing off.
After seeing many, many, commercials regarding this product - I thought it would be a helpful kitchen aide and maybe add some spark to cooking for many others for 30 years that it is sometimes a chore. We have two adult children at home, but expect to be empty-nesters soon, and with a grandchild (they can be so fussy), and eventually cooking for just us two with very different work schedules, this product seemed to fill a number of needs. We have had a lot of fun making personal pizzas, some appetizers, adapted plain refrigerator biscuits into cina-minis (versus buying the actual cinnamon refrigerator rolls - much cheaper this way), stuffed mushrooms, panini, omelets, etc. An important lesson we learned was since we are pretty much cooking in miniature; you should chop everything very fine and always keep in mind that you should not overfill any insert you might use. We have made one test run so we can tweak any recipe we have adapted. Cooked without an insert once and burned the food.
I was looking forward to this as a regularly used item for my husband and I so we could have a fresh meal when wanted, but frankly, I don't expect it to hold up well. My timer knob also melted, the unit is flawed inside and out and of rather poor quality. I think it could be a little bigger which would make it more useful. If you are not sloppy, cleanup is not difficult, but if you start over-filling, goop does get in the little nooks and crannys. I have put some water in the unit while it is still hot and closed the cover. By the time I get back to it, when it has cooled, most everything does wipe out. I seasoned my inserts and have not, yet, experienced any peeling. Would I purchase another? Only if the quality of the unit is improved vastly. Under our current usage - I would be surprised if it held up for much more than a year. I bought a teflon coated sandwich maker years ago for less than ten bucks, and it has held up better. Fun yes, but overall, kind of a disappointment. I will be calling customer service next week.
thanks for the warnings, definatly not planning to purchase anymore!
Wish I had seen this site before ordering...just received my redi set go. It is a fragile piece of junk. I wish cuisinart or some other reputable company would make these using sturdy material and ceramic cooking surfaces.

I thought this looked like a pretty cool item and was excited about using it. It was supposed to be 39.95 if you call now and get all the extras at a low discounted price. When I got the prdoduct and the bill in the mail, it was 124.00. A simple 39.95 purchase over the phone turned into a high pressure and drug out sales adventure. needless to say, I sent the product back after seeing the billl.
