Yeast Infection After Taking Antibiotics

Yeast infections after a course of antibiotics are getting more common all the time. Antibiotics are now the biggest cause of yeast infections and other bacterial infections in the body because of what they do besides treating the infection they were taken for.

If you're suffering from a yeast infection and you've taken antibiotics recently then the two are connected.

Beneficial bacteria

We all have beneficial bacteria living in our intestines and on our skin. Taking antibiotics kills the beneficial bacteria because antibiotics don't discriminate against any bacteria. Unless the bacteria is resistant to antibiotics it will be killed off when a course is taken correctly.

Beneficial bacteria  is always working in your intestines keeping bad bacteria and yeasts under control. When the beneficial bacteria is killed off the yeasts can take over, and when they do they mutate, and that's when you start suffering from your symptoms such as itching and burning.

Modern day diets

Our modern day diet helps the yeast take over when there the beneficial bacteria can no longer protect you. The Candida Albicans yeast loves sugar and refined carbohydrates, and these are in a lot of foods most people eat.

This feeding of the yeast helps it populate your digestive tract at a faster rate than friendly bacteria after a course of antibiotics. Once they mutate into a fungus they will affect the rate at which your friendly bacteria populates slowing their regeneration down even further.

Your immune system

Your immune system is your body's second line of defense against yeast infections, and antibiotics will weaken your immune system if they have been taken a lot.

Your immune systems relies on your beneficial bacteria to keep it strong. Beneficial not only fights off yeast, but it also help you absorb the nutrient from your diet. It does this by breaking food down when you ingest it so it becomes easier to fully digest. This is why most people with yeast overgrowth suffer from bloating because they can digest their food properly so it causes it to ferment in the intestines.

When your body gets used to antibiotics being used it will give up trying to fight infections on its own because it knows the antibiotics will treat the infection. While this may seem good at the time, and it is good for your doctor because your prescriptions pay his wages, long-term it is not good for you. Taking antibiotics for infections that your body should cure naturally will have an effect on your good health, and you will in the end suffer from more infections than you ever have.

Probiotics

To prevent a yeast infection from happening after a course of antibiotics its good to replenish your beneficial bacteria yourself. You can do this by taking probiotics.

You will need a good probiotic such as Threelac. Threelac is a powerful probiotic that can survive the journey through your digestive tract. Most cheep probiotics get killed off when they enter your stomach. The acid kills them so you need a probiotic that can survive stomach acid and get to the places where it will do the most work.

Threelac is micro-encapsulated so it is protected, and it contains three different strains of beneficial bacteria that keep your intestines free of yeast and other organisms that can upset your health and digestion.

Your diet

Your diet plays an important role in your health. If you eat a diet filled with poor quality food that lacks nutrition you will continually feed the Candida yeast. This will allow it to continually mutate in your intestines so you will always be infected.

Sugar is the food that Candida loves the most. To prevent the yeast from taking over your intestines you should avoid any food that contains sugar until you have your intestinal flora back to the right balance.

Eating a balanced healthy diet will also strengthen your immune system. This not only protects you from yeast infections, but your overall health will improve so you'll have more energy and clearer skin.

Protecting yourself

Preventing a yeast infection after taking antibiotics is a lot easier if you start repopulating your intestines with beneficial bacteria as soon as you have finished taking the antibiotics.

The longer you leave the infection the more the Candida will be mutating in your body, and this will mean it takes longer to treat your infection and eliminate the fungus from your body.

As well as feeding on the food you eat the fungus will feed on your body. The itching in your vagina is caused by the fungus feeding on your skin cells. If the yeast is in your intestines it will feed on the walls of your intestines, and this can lead to a lot of unrelated symptoms that normally come with a yeast infection.
