Today's strategies for a better world tomorrow.
There are so many strategies that we can do today to have a big impact on the world I can't list them all here.
But here are a few:
Recycle. It's a no-brainer but so many people still don't think that recycling makes a big impact it does.
STOP! Using chemicals to clean your house. There are easy inexpensive alternatives that work much better.
Convert your home to Solar or wind power. Times are changing if you own your home Now is the time to make changes to your energy system. Don't waste anytime taxes rebates need to be activated by Dec. 2008!
- Solar and wind energy
Solar and wind energy are the best resources for today's world
Use cloth bags when going to the food store. No more plastic bags to find a place for after you unload the groceries. Plus less plastic for your land fills yeah! Cloth bags are awesome; I have been using them of over 2 years. Tip: I use canvas bags I have picked up along the way mostly at yards sales for .50 I have also got many of them for free from business promotions.
Adjust your water heater. Most home water heaters are set to 140 degrees. You can lower your hot water heater to 120 degrees and still have enough hot water for you and the appliances.
Use the Draft Snake. Mostly used in previous decades and during the Great Depression. The draft snake, which can be custom made, or use a rolled up towel and placed under drafty windows and doors it will save you 5-30% according to the U.S. Department of Energy. Tip: I just saw the draft snake at The Christmas Tree Shop for only 3.99 not bad!
Seal ducts around your home. You can save up to $140 annually by making sure that all of your ductwork is properly sealed. You will also get the extra benefit by knowing that you are not releasing any more CO2 emissions in the air.
- Easy H20 for Gas
Don't sell your truck or car convert it to a green car that works better than a hybrid vehicle and will save you more gas in the long run.
