What is the Ad Program on HubPages?
79The Ad Program
The HubPages Ad Program provides an optimized mix of premium ads from multiple ad partners (including Google AdSense) to run alongside Google AdSense ads on your Hubs. HubPages has partnered with a number of premium ad sources, which we have access to as a very large publisher. Our size allows us to secure large website ad rates for you. When you opt in to the Ad Program, for your share of impressions on your Hubs, additional advertising from these premium ad sources will appear.
Revenue generated via The Ad Program, eBay, Amazon, and contests are paid through the HubPages Earning Program. We have created a Learning Center entry on the HubPages Earnings Program for more information.

How does the Ad Program work?
In the Google AdSense-only arrangement, each Hub may display three ad units and two link units. If you opt in to the Ad Program, you will have a total of six ads:
- One ad unit served through your AdSense account (AdSense pays you)
- Five additional ad units, some of which come from Google and some of which come from other premium ad partners (HubPages pays you)
HubPages will choose the optimal layout of ads on your page, but you can control the number of ads that show up by altering the ad level when editing a Hub.
In the pictures below, the blue squares represent your direct Google AdSense units and the orange squares represent your Ad Program units.

Viewing your Earnings for the Ad Program
You can view your earnings for the Ad Program by going to your Google AdSense home page and by visiting My Account > Earnings > Earnings Report. From your Earnings Report page you can use the drop down box to view each program's reports, e.g., All Programs, Ad Program, Amazon, eBay.
If you turn on the Ad Program, you should see a decrease in your personal Google AdSense earnings because HubPages will now be managing and paying you directly for the majority of the ads on the page. However, when you combine your Google AdSense earnings with your Ad Program earnings (and adjust for traffic) you should see an overall increase in earnings.
