The Hub of the Day Program

The Hub of the Day program exists to showcase amazing new Hubs before both the HubPages community and casual site visitors.

Each day, a new Hub is selected by the HubPages staff to be featured on the signed-in and signed-out homepage on HubPages.com. This Hub will continue to be featured in the signed-out homepage carousel for the following nine days.

In addition to having their Hubs featured on HubPages homepage, Hub of the Day authors will also receive a special Hub of the Day Accolade, which will appear on his or her profile, as well as the Hub that was selected as Hub of the Day. This way, readers will always see HubPages' official seal of endorsement on the Hub, even after it is no longer on the homepage.

Hubs of the Day are chosen by HubPages staff members based on their interesting subjects, beautiful formatting, and high quality writing. New Hubs are most frequently chosen, however old Hubs may also be selected and showcased.

Hubs that are involved with other special HubPages programs (e.g. Weekly Topic Inspiration, the HubNuggets program, contests) are more likely to be selected as Hubs of the Day than others, however HubPages staff are just as interested in high quality Hubs that are not associated with any HubPages community activities.

Would you like one of your Hubs to be selected as a Hub of the Day? You can make sure your Hub incorporates these factors, which are present in all the Hubs of the Day we select:

• Legally used, properly cited images OR original images taken by / created by the author
• A first image that will fill the full dimensions of the carousel that appears on our homepage for signed-out visitors (In other words, the Hub must have an image whose original size (when uploaded) was at least 200 pixels wide and at least 150 pixels tall)
• Excellent (and free of grammatical errors), engaging, well-formatted, and interesting writing
• A good, well-chosen title (capitalized properly, no misspellings, etc.)

The most common factor preventing many amazing Hubs from becoming Hubs of the Day involves legal image use. If any image in a Hub is improperly cited or illegally used, it cannot be selected, so be sure to read up on the basics of proper image citation in our Learning Center entry on the subject, or just use your own photos!

Receiving a Hub of the Day award is no small feat, since we have over a million Hubs on HubPages, so if you are one of the few Hubbers out there sporting a Hub of the Day Accolade, give yourself a pat on the back!
