Violation: Links to Prohibited Sites - What does it mean?
HubPages is a place for writers to contribute useful, high-quality information. In order to ensure the health of the site, we do not allow links to certain sites that are spammy, overly promotional, or heavily saturated, for example, six pack abs. To provide a great user experience for our readers, we prohibit links to the following:
- Affiliate or promotional sites in subject areas containing a high proportion of low quality or promotional content (for example, six pack abs, forex, acai berry, weight loss, etc.)
- eBook sales pages, squeeze pages, and lead capture forms
- Sites that contain pop-ups or pop-unders that interfere with site navigation (for example, when clicking the back or close buttons), or redirect users to unwanted websites
- Links that initiate downloads or change user preferences
Commonly used affiliate programs are evaluated based on the totality of how they are used on HubPages. While some of the offers or sites promoted may be ok, if a preponderance are not, then they may be prohibited anyway. You can easily see which links are problematic for you by navigating to your Hub and clicking on the warnings that appear in the black box at the top. It is important to know that not all prohibited links will necessarily be identified in that list. It is your responsibility to remove all links that fit the descriptions above.
We have included a list of other prohibited links above. Unfortunately, we cannot give an exhaustive list because the list is always changing and growing, but you can get the idea of what is and isn't acceptable.
If you feel that the sites that you link to have been incorrectly identified, please contact us by emailing the support team.
What is a Warning?
Warnings are basically a "heads up" that HubPages sees your content as a possible violation. If you see a warning on one of your Hubs, make sure that your Hub does not link to any of the sites described in this entry or violate any of the rules described in our Terms of Use. If your Hub follows our Terms of Use, simply disregard the warning and continue writing your fabulous Hubs! If your warning lets you know that your Hub cannot be published, and you are confident that your Hub meets our Terms of Use, then please email our support team.

What Do I Do if My Hub is Moderated for Links to Prohibited Sites?
If you receive an email that your Hub has been unpublished, you have an opportunity to edit it and make it compliant with our Terms of Use. In order to have your Hub republished, you will need to remove all links to prohibited sites (as well as any sites meeting the descriptions above).
When you are ready to have HubPages review it, click the "Submit for Publication" button. We will review your Hub and, if appropriate, republish it. If your Hub is republished, you will receive an email letting you know. This process can take up to 72 hours. Please remember, Hubs without substantial improvement will not be republished, and we will be monitoring any changes made to Hubs after republication.
Thank you for being a valuable member of the HubPages community!
