Violation: Unrelated Links or Products - What does it mean?

If your Hub has been moderated as being in violation of the HubPages Terms of Use because of unrelated links or products, it means that you have linked to sites or products that have nothing to do with your content. If you are in violation of this rule, you should have received an email stating that your Hub has been identified as promoting unrelated site(s) or product(s). The offending unrelated products could be displayed in your Amazon or eBay capsules, or could just be links within your text. For example, if you write a Hub about the best gardening tools, you can't have an Amazon capsule linking to office supplies. It is a much better idea to include an Amazon capsule linking to the tools that you are recommending, i.e., gardening gloves, garden trowels, etc. Please be especially careful when using keyword search based Amazon or eBay Capsules. If your search is not specific enough you may inadvertently end up with unrelated products on your Hub.

Unrelated RSS Feeds

RSS Feeds are held to the same standard as links within the Hub. All links and products listed in a Hub must be related to the content of the Hub - including RSS Feeds. This means that you can not include links to your latest or best Hubs unless they are directly related to the subject of the current Hub. You can find instructions for creating an RSS feed of your Hubs by tag or category in the Learning Center.

What Do I Do if My Hub is Moderated for Unrelated Products or Links?

If you receive an email that your Hub has been unpublished, you have an opportunity to edit it and make it compliant with our Terms of Use. In order to have your Hub republished, you will need to remove all links or Amazon/EBay capsules unrelated to your Hub's topic. You might consider adding more original content, and relevant, legitimate links to other online resources that complement this Hub's topic. When you are ready to have HubPages review it again, click the "Submit for Publication" button. We will review your Hub and, if appropriate, republish it. If your Hub is republished, you will receive an email letting you know. This process can take up to 72 hours. Please remember, Hubs without substantial improvement will not be republished, and we will be monitoring any changes made to Hubs after republication. If you have any other questions, feel free to email team@hubpages.com
