The HubPages Linking Tool

What is the HubPages Linking Tool?
The HubPages Linking Tool gives you suggestions on the best Hubs to link to in your Hub. Using the linking tool can improve the utility of your Hubs and boost your HubKarma score. Your HubKarma score is a way for the community to see if you are spreading the love on HubPages by linking to other Hubbers and their magnificent Hubs. It also has some influence on your HubScore and is on a 0-100 scale.
How to use the Linking Tool
- While signed in to your account, but not in edit mode, go to one of your Hubs. In the top black status bar, you will see a link titled, “suggest links.”
- Click on this link. You will notice an instructions box to the right. This box will tell you your HubKarma score and directions for this linking tool.
- Highlight a word (or up to six words) with your mouse.
- You will see another box pop out with a list of suggested links within HubPages for the particular highlighted keyword. If you hover over one of the links, a preview of the Hub you may want to link to will appear.
- If you see a related Hub that would augment your own Hub’s contents, click on the plus sign to the left of the link and the link will be embedded in your Hub!
- When you are finished adding links to your Hub, click the “stop suggesting links” button in the black status bar.
- Remember to only add links that will benefit your reader and give a deeper insight into your topic.
To remove any link you've added, click on the edit button in the black box at the top left corner of your Hub. This will take you to the HubTool, where you can edit the text box that contains the link. Highlight the link and click the “broken link” icon, then click save. This will remove the link from your Hub.
Please keep in mind that you should only add links where they make sense and are relevant. Excessive linking, and linking to irrelevant Hubs, reduces the utility of your Hub.
Now that you’ve mastered adding links, it’s always a good idea to go back to your previously written Hubs and update them with relevant links.
