What is the Title Tuner?

HubPages has a new tool called the Title Tuner that will be an extra help to refining your titles on older Hubs that are already seeing traffic.  Sometimes a Hub getting a trickle of search traffic can attract more with some small tweaks to its title.  The Title Tuner is the tool that will help you make these changes to grow traffic.

The Title Tuner can be found under "My Accounts." To use the Title Tuner, click on the link, which will take you to the Title Tuner interface.

  1. Once in the Title Tuner interface, simply click on the Hub title you’d like to tune
  2. You are now presented with the option of updating your title by clicking in the text box and changing your wording

The Title Tuner offers two ways to assess your title:

  1. The “Think about adding these words” option displays words that are in many of the queries, but the word or words are not in your title. It is shown as a percentage, for example, one word may be in 22% of the queries, but it is not in the title. It is a good idea to add one or more of these words to your title if they make sense. A modified, but still sensible title, will end up in more search results.
  2. The “Searches by Engine” category are queries from Google, Yahoo, Bing, and AOL in the last 30 days that led to your Hub. The number next to the keyword represents the number of times the query was clicked on and the reader was led to your Hub. We recommend using the most common keywords in your title, subtitles, and in the body of your text. When you have successfully chosen your title, click “update.”

You also have the option of viewing this Hub and editing the Hub from the Tuner interface. However, if you click the edit button, you will be taken to your Hub and away from the Title Tuner
