Setting Up Your Account - Writing Your Bio

Your profile biography along with your profile image are two things which will set you apart from being a faceless character on HubPages. Here are a few tips when writing your personal bio:

• Your bio should be an online representation of you as a writer. If you are trying to build your brand as a writer, this is the place to start.
• You can tell people anything, but please be honest.
• You can include meaningful links (e.g. to your Google+ profile, Twitter feed, or personal blog) within your biography, but less is more. Don't annoy your readers or send them on a wild goose chase.
• Give your visitor enough information so they want to find out more about you, but keep in mind that your profile is not a place to tell your entire life story or give out too many personal details.
• A well thought out bio that's not too long, but not too short, should be an introduction that will whet readers' appetites.

• To edit your bio, go to My Account > Profile > Edit Profile
• Start typing your bio in the Bio box
• Click "Save Changes"
