The Boys on the River.......

We lived there in our youth
The white riffles of the stream
pulling .... drifting ...stone to stone
down through warm currents.......
around green bends of oak
maple and past fields of
buttercups and clover .
Laughing at youthful dares.....
whitewater through the hollows.
Water the warm summer balm
of youth. Our water ....our river......
And then life took us away from that place
as if we were there one day staring
off down the river.....wondering.....
....wondering where it would go......
How could we have known......
How could we........
Sometimes I think the river
betrayed us.....
The river knew all along..........

Hello, my "Father". ^_^

"If I told you from very beginning what you will have in the end, what enjoyment you able to have in living your life then?" Said the River.

Beautiful poem, of course. It's never failed to show the breeze in your gentle heart.

"Hello my Daughter" Hi Freya , and you too have a gentle heart and soul. I just wasn't "listening" to the river then , as I so enjoy doing now . Be well Freya .....Peace my dear.

Rivers are tricky like that. They change quite dramatically though we don't usually see it happening. It's always in retrospect. Very nice!

Silvergenes , thank you , if I could go back to a time I would likely stay in that clear water until I drifted to the sea . To know less ,to feel less and just to simplify a life. Be well my island friend.

Aaah, the river of life, the secrets it kept from us so we would learn, grow, love and experience all of life. At this stage of life, simplicity is what gives me peace.

Beautfiul message!
