My Best Friend's Loving Words

When I get down no one can pick me up like my best friend. I pity anyone who doesn't have a relationship like we have. We are like one person living in separate bodies. When we don't get to talk or see each other, I become very depressed and start to grieve. So that said, I want to share the encouraging words he has written to me via poetry. Maybe you can relate and it can make you feel good, too. Each time I get down I read these and know there's someone out there who loves me dearly, no matter what. Thank you Brad. I love you dearly.

Victim (written the first night we met)

Time is nothing but a pill, it takes all wounds and makes them heal

Leaves you disfigured from the scars of who I am, of who you are

I swim in rivers of despair, I drown alone and no one cares.

Jesus say a prayer for me, for I'm baptized in a dead sea.

Plastic flowers décor my grave for empty souls cannot be saved.

Memories circulate the pain, unending movie in my brain.

Your tide washed away my dignity, your storm disturbed serenity!

Nothing left for me to lose I must awake and face the truth.

Change won't happen in a day, it takes time to find its way.

And things may even stay the same, for there are no rules in this game.

I must find some peace within, a ray of light to call a friend,

And all will know when it begins, for it's the day this world will end.

Just For You

So you've reached another final chapter

and find there's no happily ever after.

Where do you go from here?

Curse today and dread tomorrow

Embrace the chill of bitter sorrow,

Or are the answers still unclear?

Time to go and lay to rest

All the feelings of being second best.

You are so much more than that!

And my shoulders can hold the weight,

You can lean on me night and day,

I have always got your back!

And one day soon you'll find a love

To overdose on like a drug,

And if not, life goes on!

And still you've got my support

To make the longest days seem short

So you'll never be alone.

Weatherman

I can't say it wont storm tomorrow,

I'm not a weatherman.

But when life rains hell down on you

I'll shelter you the best I can.

If the winds of change come rolling in

And turn your dwelling into rubbles of stone,

You wont have to be afraid,

I'll gladly welcome you into my home.

If the stream of doubt starts to overflow

And floods all corners of your mind,

I'll show up in a boat of hope

And we'll sail away and leave it behind.

If life's storms get too harsh

And you decide you want it to end,

It would not be very long at all

Before I'd join you, my dear friend.

I can't say it wont storm tomorrow,

I can't say if it will get any colder,

But I can say I'll carry the weight of the world

If it means that weight's off of your shoulders.

Beautiful, beautiful poems. Written from the depth of your friends heart. The middle one was my favourite.

I wish you both more happiness and a friendship that lasts forever. He is a Treasure. :)

You and Brad are very lucky to have a good friendship. I don't have any close (both geographically and emotionally) friends around anymore. I still talk to some old school friends once in awhile. I hope you can hold onto your friendship.

Like you said,

"But when life rains hell down on you

I'll shelter you the best I can."

That's a good friend.

Hey Becca, I'm very glad to hear you have a best friend. It's a pleasure to know that you have someone who you feel a great connection to also. My best friend is my mother. :) Thank you very much for sharing, yet again. I'm glad to see your strength. :)

I've finally convinced him to start an HP account, so you guys can read more of his work. I love him to pieces. I wouldn't have half as much strength as I have without him, that's for sure. Once again, thank you for stopping by Cagsil! : )
