The Soldier

The soldier a lion among men

A warrior to the very end

the soldier a brother, father, hero

who sings a song of the brave

until the flag stains his grave

A soldier who puts it all on

the line for the sake of freedom

He wears his title proudly never

backing down from a fight

He does what is right to

protect his country

destroy his enemy,

defeat terrorism

challenge injustice,

and issue in peace

the soldier a job for the ages

given only to the courageous

The soldier

I love this poem. We need to honour our soldiers, even if we don't agree with war. Well done cynamans. Voted up.
