In the inkwells
of the craters
that mar my face,
nightmares fester,
tides tremble
and men are moved
to unspeakable crimes.

Kit, Kit, hooray!

Her mom was just a squatter,
uninvited 'neath your home,
who gave birth to this kitten,
then left her there alone,
You took her in so kindly,
and now look what you've got,
a star for your crown in heaven,
and a pet named, "Diddly Squat.

Lonely is a

frozen dinner,
on the sun porch

in the rain,

Helen Keller phone,

your aching need,
sitting dumb

far too often.

Between the gaping maw of a yawn,
and counting the number of stucco
points on the ceiling,
apathy sets in.
