5 minute expression

Three days of careless
A lifetime of lifeless
Breathing isn't easy
With crumbling lungs
But inhale will I still
As the world falls
Upwards and down
And oxygen burns
As it enters my mouth
Internal ignition
Hello to the end
Goodbye to the doubt

Enter and exist

Passage of time

Passage of life

Tick tock clock

Every now and then

May it stop

So that I may bask

In the fullness

Of what I've been given

And reflect on

The task at hand

Which may be

Any of many things

Life is partial

Life is complete

Your eyes hold life

Pass it to me

So I may hold it

Just for a blink

Of my eyes within yours

Mirror paradox

Endless reflection

I see you and me

In a vision futuristic

In a world long gone

Beyond, now behold

The manifestation

Of what we never thought would be

Ben is back and I must say you are a visionary, a man who has great reflection, this piece was poignant. I liked it very much. Yes passionate and inspiring indeed. Welcome back my fellow poet. I am still in limbo, dealing with some very personal issues. Peace my friend.

I have to agree with SilverGenes the mirror metaphore was simply amazing, NOT forgetting the whole poem. Glad to have stopped by as usual. Great work, your work is one that stands out!

Keep it coming!

Noticing the prevalence of paradox, you've brought me on this dizzying journey! And somehow it seems like a good journey! And - - I am SO happy to see you writing, BenWRITINGS!! :-) Hugs.

"breathing isnt easy with crumbling lungs"

I love that line, this poem is amazing. my new fave. its kinda like an "I found you in the end of the world" type scenario. a post-apocalyptic love.

Ben, I just love reading your poetry. I especially like that part about the mirror paradox and endless reflection before and behind. Very nice indeed!
