Parthenogenesis, or reproduction without one's mate,

A consideration of creativity, or evolutionary precepts?

Many birds, amphibians, reptiles, fish, all may procreate,

The eggs are within, fertilized by themselves, its concepts.

The simple Amoeba reproduces itself by bi-nary fission,

Another meaning, it just divides into two, its own decision.

Which to come first, a chicken or an egg, as confusion,

Perhaps to be solved, by the egg coming first, an illusion?

Would a feathered creature, evolve, and that to make a cluck,

With webbed feet, a flat beak, be so ill named, to be a duck?

How might a fish, just make a wish, then to reproduce its own,

Is a Monitor lizard such a wizard, or dumb, have a brain of stone?

Does the scriptural accounts of how mankind was to be made,

So contradict the laws of evolution, as a truth, or to evade?

Might humanity be a product of a God, and then to sojourn,

Developing his god like presence, yet, with much to learn?

Should we leave the silly chicken to lay its egg casseroles,

Pass by the studying of the regeneration, as we were told?

What might have been but a foolish question, and in the end,

Just might regenerate our own questions, as thought begins!

It is a known fact that chickens will lay eggs without being fertilized...of course no chicks will develop without male participation...

Interesting--I tend to forget this --a whole host of possibilities as a result though

This is a fun presentation of the ponderings of life, evolution, and divine intervention. Very creative, whonu!

I found God through my studies in the sciences. Or at least strengthened my faith. The complexity of it all is so beyond human comprehension and I feel that a true Theologian understands this complication as an amazing act of a higher power. Jamie

Yes...there are way too many amazing traits in human biology alone, and as well as the universe and it vast array of miraculous variables for there having been only by chance such a complexity. We, as human beings, are actually unable to grasp the whole truth and are limited by our still developing brains. Thanks for your kind words my friend . whonu

You had me smiling at the conundrum of "evolutionary precepts" … :) The blindness of the fallenness that renders people unable to see truth is antithetical to the obvious that should indeed cause us to begin thinking about the testimony of creation to the Creator's revealed power and grace.

I believe that scientist will more and more become convinced that we are all a product of a creator and not some wayward fluke of what we call nature, and its propagation of living things. Just a smile...here we are ...us humans...sitting and thinking...theorizing...with a brain that we received and are products of some creator who meant it to be...what a gift! whonu

We may never know the answer to what came first, the chicken or the egg.
