A Chicken Without a Mate?( A POEM OF INTERESTING POSSIBILITIES)
Parthenogenesis, or reproduction without one's mate,
A consideration of creativity, or evolutionary precepts?
Many birds, amphibians, reptiles, fish, all may procreate,
The eggs are within, fertilized by themselves, its concepts.
The simple Amoeba reproduces itself by bi-nary fission,
Another meaning, it just divides into two, its own decision.
Which to come first, a chicken or an egg, as confusion,
Perhaps to be solved, by the egg coming first, an illusion?
Would a feathered creature, evolve, and that to make a cluck,
With webbed feet, a flat beak, be so ill named, to be a duck?
How might a fish, just make a wish, then to reproduce its own,
Is a Monitor lizard such a wizard, or dumb, have a brain of stone?
Does the scriptural accounts of how mankind was to be made,
So contradict the laws of evolution, as a truth, or to evade?
Might humanity be a product of a God, and then to sojourn,
Developing his god like presence, yet, with much to learn?
Should we leave the silly chicken to lay its egg casseroles,
Pass by the studying of the regeneration, as we were told?
What might have been but a foolish question, and in the end,
Just might regenerate our own questions, as thought begins!

Yes, my good and faithful servants...carry on...
I write of the very special time at Christmas when my father and I went out into the country to find a cedar tree and what it meant to our entire family.
