A Few Things I Am Thankful For

"....think on these things."
"....think on these things." | Source

A portion of an innumerable list still forming....

it seems good every now and then to count a few of the things I am truly grateful for. (And by the way, doing so is actually a healthy activity, not just good for the soul, but for all the rest of what we are, too.)

I am grateful that my mortal life is not over, yet.

I am grateful that I have friends who love me inspite of myself.

I am grateful that I still have a few more hours of today.

I am grateful for plants and pets and people.

I am grateful for the ability to read and to write.

I am grateful for mail and email and the worldwide web.

I am grateful for modern transportation.

I am grateful for the ability to walk and observe.

I am grateful for rest at night, and challenges by day.

I am grateful for enough to eat and enough to share.

I am grateful for pure water to drink, and to bathe in, and to cook with.

I am grateful for the education I have had, and continue to have.

I am grateful for my senses and what they contribute to each day.

I am grateful for family and its responsibilities and love.

I am grateful for ancestors and what they have meant to who I am becoming.

I am grateful for work that is satisfying and sometimes rewarding.

I am grateful for the seasons, the sunrises, and the sunsets, the moon and the stars.

I am grateful for a loving God who challenges me to be my best.

I am grateful for the Son of God who knows me better than I know myself.

I am grateful to be free, with the right to express myself.

I am grateful for all those who make my life safer and as orderly as it is.

I am grateful to be able to share these thoughts with you, knowing that some of these same things I am grateful for, may be things you are grateful for, too.

Interesting! So far everyone who has said they are thankful/grateful is a lady Hubber. No final tally yet, but it appears to say someting about society already.

What are you thankful for? Let's see how much we can expand this list. I encourage male Hubbers to weigh in too!

Ms. Dora: I went back to this because I wanted to add to the list, but this is so comprehensive that I am going to need some help doing so. How about some ideas?

Hi Perspycacious, I am thankful for many things also. Especially for finding this Hub site. I so do enjoy clicking on the site and being chalenged to put my words out there along with my own thoughts about many things. I was on another site and I had a lot of traffic that commented on how well they liked it, but I didn't know how to make money on it, so when I saw that HubPages has the whole package, I was thrilled about it. Actually, I never considered myself a writer, as I just started doing it last year. But I have learned a lot, and I really like it.

Bonitaanna: It is my belief that we take our knowedge we gain in this life with us into eternity. If I am right in that belief, gaining skills and wisdom in this life can serve me well in the next life. If it also facilitates my enjoyment and productiveness in this life, then it is a two-for-one. I am glad you have found some blessings from HubPages. You are not alone in that.

Perspycacious, I believe you are right. My father passed in 1999 and my girlfriend called on him and he answered her, we were on the phone and I asked him thru her, what he was doing and where he was at! He said he is at Edwards Airforce base helping the designers design a new aircraft for the future. He said he is in between worlds. I asked how can you help them, he said thru thought power! When my Dad was alive, he was an A&E Mechanic and had his own shop where he worked on airplanes. He was also a cropduster and built his own airplanes from the ground up. I used to fly with him. I have pictures of his airplanes on FB on my wall.

Bonitaanna: Take those photos and make a great Hub! FB is there for free and great social media, but not productive as the creation of a HubPage would be with the same materials. Go for it...you have the whole weekend ahead. Need help? Let me know.

time2rite: You are right that, we can become so busy with the busy-ness of life, that we forget we have so many, many things to be thankful for. It's good to remind ourselves, and with a Hub we can remind each other, too.
