A Formidable Carving Knife

Source

Perseverance is the key
to all the locks in Life...
Persistence dressed in fortitude
is a formidable carving knife.
Any challenge Life may hold
can take creative form
if, but sculpted with a hand
persistent to transform.
Nothing lasts forever
this side of the grave...
Perseverance to endure
is the challenge of the brave.
Any lock will yield with time
if relentlessly pursued...
just carve a key in steady hand
with tenacious fortitude.

A sweet little poem tender.

Nicely metaphored, as for me tenacity is a two edged sword - I won't give up much to a fault.

The world can burn around me as I seek resolution, but I'll not give up for anything to seek that one solution.

In fact, for me, the issue of perseverance is so entrenched in my subconscious, even if I wanted to release something unresolved, I literally cannot...

A wonderful poem - nice job M.

bb, yes, I believe you are correct! Let me know if you learn the name of our salience...lol

bella, I think I told you but will tell you again, and this is not something I am particularly proud of but...truth is truth...I was, for a season, an Army wife, once upon a time...and NOONE can out-mouth an Army wife...not even a sailer...then I gave birth to three little boy angels who grew into teenage devils...who understood only their own language, which I could speak most fluently...!...Then I worked for another 15 year season in the electronics field, on an assembly line with some foul mouthed women and then in a satellite shop with a bunch of fouler mouthed, ill mannered men...so...get the pic? I try and write in a refined manner, and try to retain a refined veneer but...don't always remember that mask when tongue jumps into gear...I do try though!!! I do want to be a LADY! I so want to!!!

LOLOLOL!

"Knock and it will be opened unto you, ask and you shall receive." Many people are unaware of what they ak for and therein lies the problem.Thank you.

Spirit Whisperer, Your words are true indeed...the thought behind this piece is that I had been asking and seeking "heart and emotional" healing for a very long time and had given up the hope of that coming to pass, and accepted death, emotional and physical, as my lot...what I see now is that I was wrong...that was not my lot...I guess the moral is "dont give up 5 minutes before the miracle"...I asked but gave up before I received...because God's Timing was not my timing...I wasted alot of time in resignation, when God was at work within me, I just couldn't see it or feel it...I don't know if I am making any sense here but it makes perfect sense to me...lol...anyways,the message behind this poem is indeed as you say..."ask and you will receive, knock and the door WILL be opened unto you"...and to "persevere" in Faith....thanks for your read and comment! Hugs!

Randy, that is funny, I just mentioned The Little Engine That Could to a friend this very morning! But did not make a connection with The Formidable Carving Knife! Thank you for that! And I so appreciate your comment!
