A Haiku - Books and Reading

Some writers still use a typewriter. Why? Because it cannot be hacked.

Reading a book just for the pure pleasure of it.

What of books and reading?

Magic carpets rides:

Books can carry us away.

Reading makes it go.

Fables, fears, and fun,

Refresh our brains, show us all;

Learning words to love.

Oh that we could have

One language we might all share

Books dog-eared with use.

I love books. I never throw them away, though some find their way to charity shops. I do have a Kindle for holidays and such but I prefer to hold a 'proper' book in my hands; I find them comforting.

Yes, books can take us anywhere. They are magical, powerful and informative.

Great poem! Ann

Love it! I must confess that I'm a bibliophile, too.

Sigh... You reminded me of days spent just reading. Don't have that time now.

Innovative haiku combination, and about my favorite subject, too.

Reading is not an art.

It is an adventure of the mind.
