A Haiku - Charisma

Charisma: some have it, some don't. It is neither good, nor bad. It just is.

Charisma in a person can fool another.

Charismatic, as applied to an individual, is like iron or copper pyrites as applied to gold.

I thought: who is he?

She said, "He has charisma."

Surface shine, not deep.

Fool's gold shines lots too.

But won't buy me an ice cream;

Won't settle a debt.

Leaders have had it.

Then failed to show good wisdom.

Hitler, Mao, and such.

We find it rarely.

Charisma may be God-given.

What man does...the proof.

What defines a true leader? It isn't just charisma and sensing their power. It isn't just making us afraid so we are mobilized. It's being true, honest, fair, up front, and out front. This Haiku examines leadership.

Wise words Perspycacious. Works beautifully with brevity of Haiku. Regards, snakeslane

So very true. But with or without charisma I think we're all pretty terrific people.

No one needs charisma to be ALL the qualities that really count.

Perspycacious, Well presented. All that glitters isn't gold, and charisma unfortunately is cultivated often for purposes of manipulation.

Kind regards, Stessily

Hi Perspycacious

"Surface shine, not deep"

Take way the surface shine and what do you have left?

Voted up and away

Have a good evening. :)

"All that glitters isn't gold." I the true man would behold. A pleasant face is no disgrace. I hope the best man wins the race. (Charisma or no charisma!)

Leaders have had it. Then failed to show good wisdom....wow this piece, especially this line, definitely speaks for itself in showcasing true wisdom and knowledge. Well done :)

What man does with charisma? I think you're right! Well said. Voted everything, including up! (the ice cream line was kind of funny)

Here is another well-received haiku that had comments I failed to respond to. I'm sorry that you each took the time to comment and score and I had gone on to other writing, until now. It must have been a busy two years!
