A Haiku - Persistence

If at first success is elusive, chase it down and be conclusive.

The "piece of cake" usually comes at the end of the meal, even at the end of the year.

Persevering shows persistence.

Persistence is this:

All it takes to persevere.

Worth doing? Work now.

Fishermen know how.

Repaired nets must first get wet.

Hours may go by.

It takes persistence.

So joy is no different.

Pursue your goal now.

Fish may come calling.

There's always "the other side."

Cast your net and see.

Once, twice, even more,

The heavy net is drawn...cast.

Fishermen must fish.

Life is like that, too.

Striving for the goals takes time.

Worth doing? Work now.

"Life is like that" - one of my favorite statements. Everyone should find a worthwhile activity and lean into it. Thank you for sharing your literary work.

janshares: I hope they do see this one. Instant success fades almost instantly; while success from persistence persists.

norbertmercado : I suspect you are leaning into something as we communicate today. Worthwhile goal? From your statement, that probably goes without saying.

A poem of resilience and reflective of the strength of the inner spirit, that when we draw on it, it shines through the haze of "cannots". Avery positive work that we may all draw upon and find a common thread that connects us all.

Thanks for sharing this motivational poem! I think this is good for us hubbers --- perseverance is what we all need, in order to achieve our goals.

As a grandfather now, I suspect this also applies to raising children as well as seeking to become better ourselves.

The analogy of the fisherman is profound. We fish daily in many ways.

aviannovice: An analogy: Obama is fishing for votes every day, but worries that the only voters he's catching now are suckers. (It really is a type of American fish!) ;-o)

Voted up. I agree once we set our minds to something we must pursue it at all cost and never give up. The imagery of fisherman is just terrific. Passing this on.
