A Haiku - Youth

A Haiku - Youth

Once upon a time....

That's what youth is....only once.

Fuss, fume....and it's gone.

Here are a choice of acrostic poems on Youth....

Youth is anyone under 18.

Older folks, anyone over 40.

Under 70 can still be youthful.

Turning 75 is a mileston some never reach.

Heaven is waiting after age 80.

Some reach even beyond 100, and tell us how.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

You'd like to be youthful always.

Old age is always someone else.

Using the years wisely can keep you young.

Trust me, you will look back with fondness.

Help will be welcome one day soon.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Your potential has no limits.

Open doors await your entrance.

Usual pastimes often count for little.

Train the mind to serve the body.

Harken to good thinkers, and learn from the mistakes of others.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Young only once.

Over all too soon.

Unlikely to learn it all.

Training now for later.

Healthy habits established then (or not at all.)

The days of our youth are fewer than the days we spend remembering them.

For me this was a great reminder of how precious youth really is. Thank you.

Ericdierker - Isn't it at least 95% of the foundation for what comes next? As such, youth is precious beyond any other portion of life. Thanks for the comment, Eric.

These are interesting poems. I especially like the idea of training the mind to serve the body.

Age is but a number. Youth may be fleeting but I believe as long as we remain young at heart a piece of youth hangs on. We also have those special memories which can bring us back at any time. I've always felt that if I can still recognize myself in the mirror I'm doing alright.

I wonder at times, if politicians are just little boys grown larger and with more power. It seems as if lately those here in the U. S. have shown little youthfulnes in going about their sworn duties.
