A New Start, an Open Heart

By Tony DeLorger © 2011

Delivered from acceptance,

into a new world of dreams,

my heart is filled with expectation,

and you have set me free.

Without hope or ambition,

I stood alone within my world,

my walls of limitation,

had strangled what I felt.

One word, an outstretched hand,

and your sweet face appeared to me,

an open heart and willing start,

that I was blind to see.

You are my saviour,

my souls healing hand,

vanquishing all that fear subdues,

and enlivening what hearts command.

I wake each day with your image in my mind,

longing for your touch,

and missing what we are together,

so right, so at home, so much.

When you my love aren’t with me,

I feel missing, a piece of me is gone,

until you return and make me whole again,

I’m content but for you I long.

When found a love as this,

is all a man could ever need,

and with your heart next to mine my dear,

I could never leave.

You are my love, my future.
