A Nightingale's Song

Dusk begin to cover the sky
Crickets are humming their lullaby
Clouds are finding a place to rest
From the dark sky ahead

Shadows of the dancing leaves
Are swaying softly as the wind breathe
Flowers are closing their petals
For a night's rest

Such a peaceful and lovely night
Fireflies are also playing nearby
Lighting their way up to the sky
As the nightingales sang their sweet lullabies

Owls opened their eyes
It’s time to bid the sun goodbye
Today is another long night
Until the breaking dawn’s light

P.S. I haven't seen you for a long time here on HP and so it's good to read back from you.

Beautiful, Spy. I love the images you painted of day succumbing to the night and how wildlife adapts.
