that I needed
to be committed,
but you were the only one
to convince me,
and here we are.
Beneath a gossamer veil,
our lips sealing a
lifelong devotion,
deep within our souls.
For so long I fought off
the idea of eternal love,
always wondering why
it never lasted anyway,
but then there was you.
My blue-eyed, ravishingly
beautiful lady of hope,
this is where I
want forever to begin,
wrapped in your embrace.
Even as the world
scrambles all around us,
time slows to the wisp
and soft bliss of your kiss.
I in my strait
jacket of black
its tails caught
in a whirlwind of joy
as I take this
crazy leap of faith.
You will be my therapy
for all the lonely hours
I spent in the rubber
rooms of solitude that
I sought to bounce back from.
For Better not worse,
worse was before you,
In sickness and in health,
yet I shall never fall ill again,
for the cure is you,my radiant bride.
For richer and poorer,
But I am the wealthiest man
that ever lived granted
the treasure of you.
Till death do us part,
that veiled curtain
through which we
both shall dance
to love everlasting
in the heavens that
barely compare
to your loveliness.
Let us flee from
this adoring crowd,
who are even now
living vicariously
through our moment in time,
to a moon that is honeyed
on a tropical isle,
that is made ever so
much more lovely,
by your smile.
