A Note to My Readers
A Note to My Readers

For all those unaccustomed to the mutterings of this old poet,
I stand battered, enlivened, betrayed, enlightened and nurtured,
by all those whose hearts are touched by mine, and the words I espouse,
and who grace my pages with their stories, their fears and triumphs.
Writing is a deeply personal and cathartic expression,
delving into our inner sanctum and revealing the intimacies of belief and purpose,
and laid out to readers in the most vulnerable gesture of sharing.
We writers do this in the effort of artistry and honesty,
two important ingredients in any artistic expression,
and it is in this very state that we find one another,
in the most personal connection, writer to writer.
In the HubPages friendships are found,
the appreciation of talent and individuality,
and the solace of sharing the struggle for perfection of our art,
always honing our skills to bring to life our thoughts and feelings,
and to find at our core, the blessings we all share.
Some three years have passed since first I wrote my initial hub,
and some 1,302 since then, have fallen from my pen,
and in all that time I have grown as a writer and human being,
finding like minded souls who understand my words and sentiments,
and who belief, as I, in a better world, without fear and hatred.
To you all I give my vote of thanks, for your support and heartfelt comments,
and wish you a Happy and joyous Christmas, 2013.
It is always my hope that the world will find its way to peace
and brotherhood, regardless of culture, race or religion,
and that together we can find solace in our collective thinking,
one day to awaken to a world at peace.
To all at HubPages and to all writers who make up the HubPages community, wishing everyone a MERRY CHRISTMAS and a prosperous NEW YEAR.
