A Plain Testimony

Mockingly I lay my pen...

knowing that my words do sting...

though doubt grows within that in stinging...

my purpose lost in prose...

though kindly meant, leave something out...

So to lay at end the doubt growing in my soul...

I lay before you simple facts...

for you to do with what you will...

enough of that, I make a start...

My Father and his Son, my brother...

Sent Men of understanding on this earth...

Who's holy purpose, cause them now to act...

beyond the grave as Ghosts to teach the children of men...

But left He not Ghosts alone...

Every time the children of men...

Give place for Him to do His work...

He sends the living witnesses in...

to speak for the times that we are in...

telling and giving form to what the Ghosts do attest...

leaving nothing to doubt least any should stray...

or any justly claim abandonment...

though as for straying...

at times nothing changes...

yet Father has done His work all the same...

His living witnesses gave He to man in time...

a portion to act in Father's behalf...

to build monuments and buildings both...

as Jacob's ladder to the dead and living...

A place where all may know and see...

a way back amid the darkness that shadows to love to hide in.

All that Father asks of man are four things plain and true...

to walk back untainted by the dirt...

and filth this world engenders to our souls...

a way to take off our shoes and stand on hallowed ground...

He asks that they trust His law...

trusting view His hand in all...

and in trusting obey...

seeing His heart...

molding ours to match...

In the viewing His heart, He asks we change...

resting all within His hands...

not looking back...

Lot's wife they must shame...

without shame they walk anew...

to the next step along the path...

He asks we meet with Him in truth...

baring witness to our intent....

giving place for Him to make bare his arm in return...

Tokens of water we give...

amongst others...

immersing ourselves to prove our consecration...

following Christ into his grave...

trusting Him to bring us out with renewed breath...

as for the rest we go to Jacobs ladder...

as I said before...

inch by inch we lay...

before His altar all our heart...

Sealing ourselves His...

as He proclaims to our ears His paternity...

Finally He asks that we trust Him...

not in word only but deed...

Giving us constant guides amongst the Ghosts...

Binding us to them...

as long as His children would but stay clean...

With the living and dead as our guides...

we walk guarded to the path...

where lies the gate of eternal bliss...

Though as for bliss, tis a bloody course...

for answer we must for Christ's sake...

and to the testimony of Job we must equal...

To gain our inheritance at Christ's side...

sitting down with Abraham at the feast...

or look them in the eye, we never will...

finding our cloths and minds unfit to stand...

with such men as they, at rest at last...

Judge you if I speak right...

Upon this rock I found my faith...

Know my Father as I do in heart and head...

I watch His hand without pretense...

now His hand in mine I lay this verse...

To set at one my verses...

Showing how I speak as I do...

And now to this I say...

My Brother is my witness...

And also the great Amun.

After reading Jaggedfrost's "Testimony," I feel anything I might write would be nothing worth reading, comparatively. I am glad I didn't embarrass myself by posting a poem from high school I once thought was pretty good.

Well I didn't write this or anything else in order to stop you from having some fun. If you would get better, practice and time as well as shutting out all other voices to your art will help you develop something you can be proud of. Mine is a developed art.

Your message to trust in the ones who God sends to guide us is taken to heart. Been praying about this lately. Beautiful lyrics!

I am glad it did you some good. Trusting the servants of God isn't always easy, especially when the best and the brightest are usually the ones who won't serve so what he is left to work with are those who only succeed at times by the grace of God.
