Your Dictionary Smile

Your Dictionary Smile

Your words fall in patterns.
They jump and they lick like the flames of a furnace.

Your words fall in patterns.
They bellow and chant in the fire inside me.

And as I trace the patterns into something
I only imagine,
Into something I would like,
You give your words to someone else.

Your words fall in patterns.
You could plunder a town with your lips alone.

Your words fall in patterns.
I trade limb and organ for your dictionary smile.

And as I mold your words into thoughts
I only imagine,
Into thoughts I would like,
You give your thoughts to someone else.

I trade limb and organ for your dictionary smile. This speaks volumes to me, there is nothing more revealing in a person than there smile. It disarms hostility, it lights a flame in another person. There are so many people in our world with beautiful smiles. There definitely is a pattern to a smile:-)) Peace

The tongue can be a whip and it can be a pacifier. What words one says can and will have potential to change a situation. Keep writing and don't ever let anyone's words get in the way. You wrote a good poem.

Thanks Saddlerider, I appreciate that you're on the same frequency as I regarding that smile. I am enjoying your work, too. And Agaglia, thank you and your hubs are refreshing. Thanks for your feedback MsFowler. And CMCastro - you positive input is motivating. Surfeitt
