A Poem of Hope

Hope

Tears fell from my face last night.

I cried and I don't know why.

There was no light. No light.

All I could do was cry. Cry. Cry.

My heart skipped a beat.

All I felt was this deep feeling of defeat.

Perhaps a feeling of regret

And memories I'll never forget.

My hands trembled out of anger, no it was fear.

Fear of everything.

My hands drenched with tears

And all I could think of was something. Something.

Memories. Memories can be so taunting.

Can be so haunting.I remember the past

Something that will forever last.

I remember the yelling and the divorce.

I remember being touched with such force.

I remember all of the abuse

And feeling so used.

Tears fell from my face last night

But now I can surely see the light.

I am strong not made of just memories.

I am a girl who can surely someday be free.

Yes. Tears fell from my face last night.

I cried and I don't know why.

There was no light. No light.

But I can truly see hope in sight.

Hope...Hope in sight.

CrescentMoon, the poem was beautiful. I loved it already just by reading the title. As long as there is life, there is hope. I envision you feeling every stronger and more hopeful day by day. If you can, have an eager anticipation of things getting better and better. I wish you all the best.

It's a terrible thing, when we feel so lonely, and so helpless. I have been there. Agan, I am seeing an interesting voice here. Thanks for sharing.

when there is life, there is hope...divorce is not the end rather a beginning of new life ahead...just discover the wonderful world that awaits you...

Thank you, I was actually speaking of my parent's divorce that happened when I was nine years old. I took it hard even though I knew it was for the best.
