A Romance that never was

Playing the game

This was written Jan.18th 2010.In memory of CB.

A Romance that never was

Her smile drew me in along a path an endless dream

She knows nothing of my desire

In silence I embrace the fire

Slowly I let her know and she takes to her game

She knows I like her

Where does she want this to go

Finally I tell her hoping she has the same dream

She lets me down easy but she holds a card

She decides to play hard

Not knowing she has misread the hand I am playing for love

Calling her bluff she folds throws the cards away

Still not seeing what price she has payed

May have been love

A romance that never was
