A Seizure Last Night

Source

Had a seizure last night.

It made me sad. Been seizure free

Since the surgery. Why did it happen?

Don't understand. Still take meds.

Why now ? Just confused.

See the doctor, regularly.

Why did there come a seizure?

It is just not right.

Can't just give up.

No, not this time.

At least hope.

For this is true

There are others like us.

They have seizures also.

They take medication.

Many have had surgery.

Many don't feel sad.

Is sadness just for me?

Today feel alone.

What does that mean?

Hope tomorrow, won't be.

Michele, your comment says it all...there is no choice...we deal with the hand we have been dealt and we move on. Is it fair? Silly question really...it is just life. I would love to not be an alcoholic but oh well. I wish you peace and happiness and of course improved health.

Hang in there my friend, dont give up,it s still fresh and not that bad yet.It s true that there are times when we all of us feel like giving up.But remember that God is teaching us to trust in HIS timing and testing our patience and faith.Don't be in a hurry.Don't be impatient.Don't try to force doors to open.Don't try to make things happen in your strength. Let God do it HIs way.HE has a time table for all our hearts desires.Be strong, count your blessings!God will be with you!

I m praying for you to get better soon!

So sorry to hear about the seizure, I DO know that very helpless feeling. I've been lucky not to have any for a while (that I know of) myself. Miss seeing you & you know to get a hold of me if you ever need to talk! :)

Dear Michele,

Hi, I didn't know you suffered seizures....I'm sorry you had to go through one again. You said you hadn't had one in a long time. I am praying for you my friend. A close friend of mine has seizures and he has been air-lifted to the hospital about 5 times now because of these. His are from a car crash, in which he suffered some brain damage and it's affected his eye sight...he cannot drive. So my heart does go out to you, because I know a little about it because of my friend. I will pray for a complete healing, that you won't suffer any more seizures.

Your friend,

Helen

Michele, Seizures are normal, after brain surgery, since you are taking regular medicines, and your dr's are aware of the problem, this is a slow process, just smile and write something which should make our day. ok

Thank you Revenga-down I slept well last night. That helped. Thank you for praying for me. That means more then anything. You and I agree with that. I am going to be ok, As you know, there is only one God. It does not matter what we call him. He still is the same Allah, Jehovah, God. He made us, and we are his children. Some do not agree. But, I do believe. Allah, God, loves us. He truly does, we may not agree on everything, but thank you for praying for me. He hears our prayers.

Thank you my friend.

I am praying for Allah God to bless you.

Michele, I will give you my usual waaaaaaaaay out there point of view, which of course could cause you to burst out laughing, but that would be a far better response than feeling sorry for what's happening to you.

Seeing all the new studies that are taking place in the field of quantum physics, there seems to be a misconception of what time is. In a nutshell, it is very possible that we are only conscious of our existence in this plane, but there is the possibility that we also exist in other dimensions where we simply live other lives with different challenges, different people, etc. What if (this is a big IF but it will help you see your problem under a different light) your epilepsy it's simply an interference from that universal consciousness between the various layers of life we are currently having? What if your epilepsy is not really a disability but a symptom of being more in tune with everything that is happening to your spirit on different levels? It is frustrating, but I've always thought of epilepsy as a short-circuit fuse blown by becoming too aware of those things that most people can't perceive - an overload of information that threatens to burn the motherboard of your PC.

Well, I am not sure. I have lesions on the left side of my brain. The doctors could on remove a small amount of them. Lesions real, at least that is what the doctors think. You know what I mean?

Michele Travis profile image

Michele Travis 4 years ago from U.S.A. Ohio Author

Oh, by the way, they are still growing. I am ok with this. My mother had epilepsy and died at the age of 62. Her father died at 57. The thing that is most important to me, is that God leads me down the path, He wants me to follow. That is what I pray for.

klarawieck 4 years ago

That's a great way to look at it, Michele. I have a deep respect for epileptics. I do believe it's a spiritual overload (this of course doesn't wipe out the existence of a physical explanation that triggers the seizures as well.) I had a friend in HS who had seizures often. I learned to respond so he wouldn't get hurt.

I hope you continue living a happy life with this singular part of you. Your writing can inspire many others that are still learning how to cope with similar issues.

Michele Travis profile image

Michele Travis 4 years ago from U.S.A. Ohio Author

klarawieck Thank you, I am learning more about the spiritual basis of life. God loves me and I love God. My life is happy, but things do happen sometimes and writing helps. I have even had people email me about their problems, I think that is a good thing. If we can help each other in any way, shape, or form, then it is OK.

klarawieck 4 years ago

Michele, writing does help a lot. I tend to keep a lot of things bottled up inside and once I start writing I realize that it's all still there. Otherwise, I wouldn't even know I carry it inside. I'm the happiest girl in the world. I swear! I just don't dwell in the past, but I guess it's healthy to get all those bad experiences and fears out in the open. There's always someone who's in worse shape than we are.

Michele Travis profile image

Michele Travis 4 years ago from U.S.A. Ohio Author

klarawieck you are so correct. Keeping it inside it still hurts. Getting rid of it is good. I am glad you are writing, and you are right, there are others who are in worse shape then we are. You are very right.

Hi Revenga-down I am much better. The doctor put me on a very strong antibiotic. It was the strongest they had. It made me feel sick, but the infection went away! It was a very bad time. I went to the dentist, then got an infection in my lower jaw( on the left side)the infection moved up to my left ear, then went towards my brain. That is why they gave me the strong antibiotics. I am fine now. The pain is gone! Thank you so much for asking.

Michelle, voted up and beautiful, because you are a beautiful person. I have alot of hubbers on my prayer list, and I am adding you to it today. I go over my list every single morning before I get out of bed.

SO SORRY you had another seizure! A close friend of mine tells me all the time, "This too shall pass." The most important thing is your faith in God.

I never ask God "Why?" But HE KNOWS. I know in my heart He has a Divine PURPOSE for you, as you bless so many with your writing.

You said so much with so few words, what a gift. PLEASE Keep Writing! And NEVER GIVE UP. God has you in the palm of his hand. Blessings always, Sparklea :)

Michele , My heart goes on through this with you , if I could I would do what we used to do with my Father , touch his shoulder or arm and speak softly , soothingly to him ,Please make sure you get lots of rest before and after , we used to be able to detect the changes preceeding his seizures . My Mother would say to us , watch out for him . By the way I now have a 7 year old Chocolate Labrador who began having siezures a couple of years ago , and the vet told me , after I said NO to the Dilantnin pills, she told me to try high doses of vitamin D ! Have you had any advice there ? My heart breaks now when I watch my dog like it did with my Father! I too believe that God has a plan that we can't begin to understand . My Father lived to be 79 + and I don't want you to start counting remaining years !So stop that NOW ! lol ....Picture your hubber friends cradling you in our arms ! Thats what we would do !...:-}By the way , you only get prettier and prettier since your surgery! And thank you for sharing YOU with us !
