A Shadow In The Darkness

I am sound asleep or at least I thought I was

Then there is that crashing sound

Am I dreaming ?

What could it be ?

I don't see it as part of my dream

My dream is different and then where did the noise come from ?

I have to wake up from my dream to see if I am dreaming ?

Sure enough it was my kitten climbing on my bureau and knocking things off one by one

Trying to get my attention and that she has in 5 seconds flat

She is full of adventure even while I sleep

Her curiosity is never ending and she has ambitious fever

I want some of that

I am sleeping the night away when I could be traveling on the greatest adventure with my kitten

No picture frame unturned

Knocking the phone to the floor as if she was going to make a call

What is she thinking NOW ?

I now know it is possible to learn while you sleep

I am her student and a poor one at that

I have failed to come even though she gave every attempt to show me adventure awaits and opportunity is knocking

I roll over and do what any cat owner would do

I cover my head and pretend I didn't hear her scratching at the mirror

Taking pictures off the mirror and her dancing the tango with my lamp shade

I open my eyes which look cross eyed and the instant urge to go pee carries me to a new direction

I stumble and almost trip on my own two feet

As I hold onto the wall and feel along it as if I was a mouse and cannot see where I am going

I have been over the same path thousands of times and why do I still need to second guess

What am I thinking there is going to be a foreign object in my way

Where could it come from ?

I hear the sound of my closet door opening and closing

Yes she has mastered the art of getting to any closet in the house with a few raps of a paw and her teeth

It was only yesterday I found her in such a quantry

She had the handle of a gift bag wrapped around her neck

It was a small gift bag with bingo dobbers in it

Was she going some place without me ?

Is she a bingo cat and the most talented cat I know ?

Should I change her name to Lucky ?

I helped her get free but she didn't seemed concerned

She seemed more displeased that I took it away

Was it only a coincidence or was she telling my wife to go play bingo

Does my kitten have a 6th sense or am I just tired and dislusional

I want to go back to sleep but while I am up I feel like writing a letter

But to whom and why?

Maybe to my kitten and ask her why she tourments me so

I could eat but it is kind of early and I would just be eating for the act of eating not the act of being hungry

My alarm has turned on with music playing

Sometime has passed since I first woke up about 2 hours ago

It is now 7:32 in the morning

Should I go back to bed

It is Sunday the day of rest

Unless your a kitten then it is Fun Sunday

Well I envy all you sound sleepers and I am going to try to assume the position

My dalring little kitten has left the room and maybe just maybe she is getting some shut eye

Talk soon now I am taking this window of opportunity to catch up on some needed sleep
